Wedges Help

Been playing for about 1yr.
I have PW 44* SW 55* LW 60*
I have never used the 60*. When, where would I use it, if ever ?

My understanding is that, assuming it has a lower bounce than the 55, on tight lies near the green hitting over a bunker.

From previous experience, I found a 60* ideal for sending it across the green at a max height of 3 inches

I'm no expert, but what I found that works well for me was a lower bounce 54, and slide it open to get more bounce for more loft. 2 clubs in one, and despite what folk think, opening the face of a wedge, doesn't send the ball off to the right. Saved me a space in my bag by only carrying 2 wedges, and a really old SW that only gets used in bunkers.

Sell the 60 and buy a 50 gap wedge

As it happens, going for an iron fitting soon, so 5/6 - GW is a possibility

I would agree with bobmac

44-55 is a huge gap and whatever you put between them is going to get a lot more use than a 60 wedge


(on a personal note my most lofted wedge is 54)

My pw is 43, I then have a 50 56 and 60

I use the 56 for the majority of chipping

60 is for either out of bunkers or if I need to get over something and stop it quickly

Haven't got measurements of my bounce in most of my wedges, by observation it looks similar to my sand wedge.

If you don’t use it why carry it?

56* is a conventional sand wedge loft.
