The good news is that Bracknell (just down the M40) is showing wind speeds not higher than the teens next week so I think its a typo. However the wind chills are still going to be -3 to -6 until Thursday (DAYTIMES) so still not warm. Thank heavens for heated bays at the range

Berwick showing 354 to 453 mph winds when I looked earlier today........might give the golf a miss or all them callaways will be gone!

If it was only wind that we'd have to put up with here in ireland id be over the moon.....We've put down weeks of consistant rain and tomorrow is my first time hitting a ball in 6 weeks......Cant wait...Ill probably see parts of the course tomorrow that i didnt even know existed.....

It's a bit strange because i tend to find metcheck to be the most reliable weather checker. For once i hope the BBC weather is right

You're lucky it may have blown over by the weekend. It's predicting speeds of up to 418mph on Saturday up here in Lanarkshire. Looks like no golf for me

I didn't play today (packing the inlaws off to San Diego until the new year so spent hours at Heathrow) but went to the practice ground at lunchtime. Damp underfoot but not overly cold until the wind picked up and the sun went in. It got bloody cold very quickly. Off for a game tomorrow and maybe some shortgame and putting after
