Waterproof zip reglueing

So, the zips on my waterproof bag are starting to peel off as they age (they're glued, not stitched).
I've had the bag about 5 years, so not realistic to return it.
Before I use something inappropriate, I wonder if anyone has successfully attached such zips, and what glue produced a good result.

I used something from Stormsure and made a right mess of my bag! I think (I know) it was user error and the product is actually pretty good in the right hands.

User error is definitely a fear of mine. Ease of application (and cleaning up of the excess) is quite important to me.
