Wanted: Iron set for game improver.

I am looking for a set of Irons that have some modern characteristics, I would say 2-4 years old. My budget is not high and I am really hoping for something that does not launch the ball too high but does have some forgiveness. If anyone has an old set that they are not using any more and would like to make some money please give info.

Thanks so much

Alex

i got ben hogan ftx's great condition, grips are a little worn. u can have my mp33's for 200? new grips hehe

or buy a set of cleveland cg7 u can pick them up brands new for 230.00 4-pw

wilson di9's 200.00 3/sw

i am currently selling my cleveland TA3's (3-PW) with R300 shafts / golfpride grips. they are used but still very useable. i am a scratch golfer myself so they are perfect for improving your game. i put them on gumtree for £125. would consider getting rid of them for £100 + shipping (depending where you live).

You've got to love this forum sometimes.

Someone comes on and asks for a set of GI clubs and suddenly gets offered blades and clubs with "Tour Action" written on the back.

I think we can do better for the OP.

Alex.....PM me if you want any info.

quoted from OP. doesnt sound to me like he wants some hybrid set. i used my "tour action" irons to get from 13 down to scratch in a couple of years. maybe i dont understand the term "game improvement" :P

no hate bro

No, we're cool. :)

There are some fantastic clubs out there in the GI market. If the ball goes too high, maybe try stiff shafts. You obviously did really well with your set, and clearly for you they really were game improvement. I think it depends on where you start though.

very sorry 4 delayed reply was away yestarday, well lookin at the di9 the price has gone back up to original pricing, 260.00 very sorry

what about a brand new set of nike pro combo for 200-220?

Get a set of Titleist 775/755/735 irons.

All great clubs and can be had in decent all-round shape for as little as £100 a set on the auction site.

Im using my old 775's at the moment and I reckon they are a great club and would do exactly what you want them to do for you with the right shaft option as would the other 2 suggested models.

He's the messiah and not a very naughty boy. Any of those suggestions would be cracking. :)

Hard to ask for better than that! 565s are great clubs and the rifle option was the way to go (not the YS graphite!!)
