Looking to try out one of the Miyazaki lightweight shafts for a while, and the best way seems to buy one of the Cleveland drivers with one preinstalled. So I'm on the lookout for a Cleveland XL270, Classic etc with a Miyazaki installed.

Perfect combo for me would be Cleveland xl 270 9 degree, Miyazaki 39 gramm Stiff shaft, but will consider any of the other combos of head, with the slightly heavier 43g shaft etc.

Anyone looking to offload one before I go the eBay route.

I had the Miyazaki shaft in a Mashie Hybrid I won.

Very, very light. Even in the hybrid I believe it was only 50g!

Have you tried the shaft BT?

I had one of these and the stiff shaft was pretty flexible at the tip compared to what I'm used to.

Really good clubs, I'm interested in trying the classic but would want to try the x stiff shaft before taking the plunge.

They are long, stupidly, stupidly long though :-)

I trid the Cleveland Classic drivers, which various shafts, including lists of the Miyazkia shafts in different weight and flex, and got the most from the 39S shaft. Obviously the classic is still commanding new prices, so thought I would look out for the older SL etc heads.

As I said really just an experiment to see what it feels like over an extended period.

I got an SL290 w 43pm R as replacement for an 'under-lagged' Ping G15 w Serrano S (after the loss of 10mph swing speed!).

Had tried a Pro mates's 310 w 39gm which was pretty good but did indeed feel quite flexible, so a 'flowing' swing works best. The R shaft is also a little 'lower end soft' - rating of 7511 - but doesn't feel floppy. Previous owner was a fairly long-hitting 5-capper who was reducing his stock of Drivers (to just an Adams 9015D w Wishon).

I have been informed, by 2 fitters, both of whom I trust, that Miyazaki shafts don't 'travel' very well across to other heads! So if you are thinking of trying it in the Burner, I'd suggest a rethink. Nothing wrong with the SL290 head imi though - I got 30-40 yards back!
