Wake up call!!!

Fortunately for you it wasn't a heart attack but I sincerely hope that they find out what's wrong with you so you can be treated more effectively.

I had the misfortune of suffering a heart episode at the age of 25. Overworked, over smoked/drunk and a bad diet all made for my downfall.

Giving up smoking was the single best thing I ever did but I will be honest going from 30/40 a day to 0 was hard for a couple of months at least and it does get easier with time.

Interestingly during rehab/recovery the medical people told me that golf on a course was good but going to the range was bad. A great excuse to not go if I'm honest. Something to do with bending down too much and it being bad for the blood pressure. Gardening (specifically digging etc) was also off limits.

These days I try and limit myself to 55-60 hours a week now.

Good luck mate.

Glad to hear you are ok Gibbo.

I might need to follow your example or I'll probably not be lucky enough to post on here and inform the forum that I had a scare. My family history is poor with one grandad dead in his 40's and the other in his 60's. my own dad had scare at 58.

the conclusion was that my electrolytes were down (dehydrated) and white cells up so possible slight viral issue. this caused the symptoms I had which were similar to those of a possible heart attack. I had a blood test done 4 weeks ago for other reasons (fatigue, constantly sleeping, lack of appetite) and the cell counts were normal as was everything else, thyroid, liver, blood sugar etc.

Working 6 days a week, running around after 3 teens (cooking, cleaning and stressing out with), poor diet, heavy smoking, binge drinking at weekends = body knackered, stressed and run down.

At least I know my health in general is good, its just the other stuff to sort out which is easily doable albeit with a bit of effort.

As others have said, the body knows when somethings not right and usually gives us a little warning shot, whether we heed that advice is upto us, I certainly will!
