Fortunately for you it wasn't a heart attack but I sincerely hope that they find out what's wrong with you so you can be treated more effectively.
I had the misfortune of suffering a heart episode at the age of 25. Overworked, over smoked/drunk and a bad diet all made for my downfall.
Giving up smoking was the single best thing I ever did but I will be honest going from 30/40 a day to 0 was hard for a couple of months at least and it does get easier with time.
Interestingly during rehab/recovery the medical people told me that golf on a course was good but going to the range was bad. A great excuse to not go if I'm honest. Something to do with bending down too much and it being bad for the blood pressure. Gardening (specifically digging etc) was also off limits.
These days I try and limit myself to 55-60 hours a week now.
