Used car question

I bought a nearly new Saab 9-3 in 2008 from the main dealer, who had owned it from new (9 months).
Later in its life and out of warranty, I replaced a couple of components that were playing up (window motor and door lock). Both defective parts had scrappers part numbers written on them in yellow paint pen and the stamped part numbers were from a different model year. The car had clearly been used as a donor before they sold it to me.
As long as they don't lie to you and the car has never been scrapped or written off, I don't think they have to tell you anything. It's down to you to ask the right questions and find the faults before you buy it.

I feel when you buy a used car, you have to expect it's had some paint at some point in it's previous ownership. I wouldn't worry, the fact you think it's had 2 new doors is much better than a repair with an abundance of filler. As long as it looks sound on the outside, and the doors shut and align correctly I would say it's fine.

Dealership phoned today but I missed the call, be interested to see what they say, but I leave it at that.
I've learnt that I'll need to look at cars at but more other than seeing how fast it goes and how good the sound system is ?

Back in the 60s I worked in car preparation for a main dealer. Dewaxing, polishing etc. About 1 in 3 cars had to go to the body shop for some minor paint job and the occasional one for a major paint job.

Spoke to.dealership today, taking it in for them to have a look, maybe they'll swap it for a type R ?

Bit of a result today, they've agreed to take it into the body shop and have a look for any other damage and then spray up the doors so they are match. It's also due an MOT so they'll do this too and I get a courtesy car for all the time it's in.
Don't think theyll give me a type R, but the have a few of the new Honda e car demonstrators so might be nice to have a drive of that.
