Ok folks where do we see the value bet on this one.
Anyone under the radar with good odds for a top 5 placing?
Personally I think I'll have a punt on Jason Day top 5
I don't know much about he course so what type of player would it suit? I gather it's longer than Merion so I guess a good driver of the ball is paramount, also being a US open it will be tricked up lighting fast greens so a good putter as well.

Pinehurst has been redesigned since last there. Sounds like its 7500 yards par 70 but theres very little rough (certainly not what you would expect at a US Open) just waste and wiregrass areas. Small greens many upturned saucers so short game going to be at a premium. Theyve had a lot of rain of late and more forecast this week means its going to be tough for them to get the greens as firm as they would like (which is probably the courses main defence these days) and will also make the fairways play a bit wider. Looks like it may not be your conventional US Open and play into the hands of the bigger hitters, at least those with good short games!

Behave Scooter lol

Sorry, you're right. back in my box i go.

I can't see past a resurgent McIlroy to be honest, Adam Scott should be there or there abouts, the tough call to make some money are the outsiders for a top 10, Furyk, Matsuyama, Donaldson, Jiminez, the list goes on!

The likely softer aspect to the course definitely makes McIlroy an appealing option. Scott, Day, Dustin Johnson, Bubba, Stenson all should fit the "profile"

I have found the best value bets are small accumulators on the 3 balls. for example pick the lowest scorer from 6 groups has got me 180/1. So i have picked:

Mcilroy
Jiminez
Furyk
Speith
Rose
Z Johnson

All to "win" their 3 ball on thursday.

I think McIlroy has been having to many bogeys of late to make him value at 12-1. With it being a tough course he will find it harder to make enough birdies to make up for the bogeys, though I would love to be proved wrong. I've had £10 E/W on Shane Lowry at 125-1. Now that he has got the flat stick working again. He is a pure ball striker and has a great short game. Jimmy Walker could also be a good E/W bet.
