We have had 3 members up (separately) this morning questioning why the course is closed, they then all proceeded to take a walk out onto the course to prove to themselves that it shouldn't be closed.

On with the wellies....wellies remember, and off they go.

20 minutes later back they come proclaiming "Aye she's wet oot there right enough".

Do these people think we close for fun,do they not realise we are trading with no income when we close,do they think we are just taking the pish when we take the decision to close??

Jesus Christ give me bloody strength.

Customer is King!

Sunny Bexhill, might pop along and see Smiffy teeing off at Cooden later if the jailer allows it:o

I played in a Midweek Medal today. Course was damp with some water in the rough but never unplayable. Greens were good and I finished level so it was a good day. A couple of heavy showers meant I put waterproofs on but soon had to take them off as the sun came out.

Perhaps they would like to offer their asistance to the green staff to clean up the damage, seeing as their game has been so inconveniently cancelled by the course closure?

Or maybe they'd rather sit in the bar whinging .... all sounds familiar to plenty of clubs i'm afraid.

Given your sense of humour they probably thought it was another Dodger wind up..

Heavy blasts of rain on & off most of the day here.

On my way to my lesson at The Warwickshire this morning it was that heavy on the A46 we were all going 20mph maximum because you couldn't see 10ft in front of you.

I reckon my course got battered again today and just like most courses they won't be getting the rest they need to drain and recover with this constant battering of water!

If we walk all over the soft greens we would then be moaning that there all bumpy and unplayable.

It's cr@p but we gotta take it on the chin.

Ascot is fairing well but the practice ground is under water. Mainly because they park coaches on there for Royal Ascot week and so it was a bit churned up even before the rains. Went to Blue Mountain range in Bracknell and a big storm blew in as I got there. Black as night and a bit like my mood after shanks, poor tempo and bad swings

Went to my gaff today and the thunderstorm that had literally flooded every road up to the course had just gone over.... when I turned up the 18th green wasn't visible at all as it had turned into a lake....

30mins later we tee'd off and it was lovely..

Sun was out and all the greens were all playable... couple of puddles here and there but nothing worth closing the course for. The fairways did have a few new water features running across them but in general it was pretty firm.... which is surprising seeing as it's all on CLAY.
