Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate the help of the golf community!

I have recently started building ‘Golf Caddy’s’ for storing golf clubs and equipment somewhere safe and stylish and we are considering adding them to our offering of products. I would love to know if there is a market for this and if we can make it affordable for the average golfer.

If you have 2 minutes to answer our 6 question survey, we would really appreciate it!

Thank you, all! ⛳🏌️‍♂️

Features:

- golf bag/ club dedicated section
- tee and ball compartments
- pocket tray with wireless charger
- storage for shoes, clothes, training aids etc
- solid wood
- hand made
- stained/ painted
- hat hook
- bottle opener
- delivered

It’s nice

But would recommend that you attach the picture to the survey

And also what is the cost of the item as there are a few around

Loads of similar things on Amazon (other bargain websites are available) , this is nothing new.
I agree! The main difference in the fact that this is timber and made to fit home decor, instead of the majority which are metal and not as appealing to look at in my opinion - thank you for your feedback!

Hi! Is the image not displaying on the survey? It should be there!

Pricing will vary on the feedback received as we are still planning. Thank you for your feedback!

I wouldn't buy one, so no point in me answering the survey, but one thing I would suggest: no need for a bottle opener, but you should have a shelf for a golf trolley battery with a cable hole for charging it.
Also not sure why the wireless charger option is a benefit? I see this as a storage place for golf stuff, so why would I be charging a phone there?
Edit: picture displays for me in the questionnaire.

If you do get a moment to fill out the survey, we would appreciate it, it really helps to have the feedback in one place, good or bad!

Thank you for your feedback - we will definitely take this into consideration!

Don't want to be overly critical, but when you say "timber" it looks like you mean 18mm plywood.

Given the carpentry of that image, I'd expect them to be cheap.

There are multiple versions of this type of unit on the market (yes, some made of actual timber).

Yes, it absolutely is ply, ‘timber’ was used as a simplification.

What areas of the build quality makes you feel that this should be a cheap product? Thank you for the feedback!

I think you have issues with the kick panels, they look like an afterthought and just butt jointed all round. I, personally, would have mitered them to "wrap" the base and not just look stuck on.

If you insist on using ply, I would be looking to edge band (either with tape or steam bend some narrow maple or the like) to hide the exposed ply. Unless it's Baltic Birch ply then I would not look to stain it, rather oil it.

Lastly, the top shelf again looks like an afterthought and the rail, again for me, should be covering the shelf edge so that it looks wrapped and not like it's just been tacked on.

As I say, I don't want to appear too critical but for a plywood unit such as that with that build quality, I wouldn't be looking at buying (or even selling) for more than £100 let alone the £200 you suggest on the survey. I reckon I could build one from solid oak and charge £200 and still make a margin.

Not sure what timber you would need to match sheds and garages as this is where a lot of us store our stuff 🤪

This!

I have looked at these before, but they take up valuable space IN MY GARAGE. Not a chance I'd have it in my house and my wife would burn it. If I didn't have a garage, I still wouldn't 'display' my clubs. They'd be hidden away.

Many here have lockers at their golf club, so can store there too.

The survey asks price point and the lowest one to select is under £200. I genuinely think unless this is less than half that, you'd not sell very many.

Amazon has 525 results for 'golf club storage'.

I have 5 bags in my garage and one at my club. If they were in my house, someone would have to move out to accommodate your idea.

Have done so.

Was the point I was going to make. My golf cupboard is in the garage.

I bought a 2 metre high steel cupboard from an office supplies surplus store for about £25. Lots of shelves and space for bags. Lockable roller doors too.

Seems to be lots of things added to this for the sake of trying to shoehorn extras into it/make it seem appealing. But they just make the whole thing miss the mark.

If this is going to be for in someone’s house, absolutely no need to have a wireless charger as they’ll have other more suitable locations already for charging phones.

Bottle opener? Again why I’m sure we all have these in our cutlery drawers or where we store booze not on a golf stand.

Shelf for golf clothes, that’s what drawers and wardrobes are for !

The build quality also doesn’t warrant a near on £200 price point as you can see the plywood edging flashing through the wood stain and the kick plates would benefit from better joinery. I’m not trying to be overly critical just pointing out reasons I wouldn’t buy this in a market already flooded with similar products at better price points.
