Two days before Woburn I've copped a proper dose of man flu. No voice, shivers, temperature and streaming nose. The prospect of hauling my carcass round 36 holes isn't enticing at the moment. Typical. Really up for this and now this. Put me down for 18 points (combined)
 
Hot whiskey is your friend. many ways to make one but this was one which was very popular on the frosty days in ireland when I worked in a pub.

Glass with teaspoon inserted. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar.
Add boiling water - stir until sugar has gone
SLice of lemon - with 4 cloves inserted into the segments.
Squeeze of lemon into the glass also
Add a shot(or two :) ) of whisky

quick stir...

2-3 of those every evening should see you sorted by thursday
 
Chin up buddy. 2 days in bed with all the right pills will hopefully see you right. Was looking forward to meeting you.

If you absolutely cannot make it then Swinger was feeling sorry for himself about missing out.

sweat it out Homer, dose yourself up and hope you make a speedy recovery. If its any help there have been a lot of 24hr bugs around recently, you may be lucky ;)

THat was the idea of hitting the range. Jumper on and tried to sweat it out. Played like a knob, devoured any shred of confidence for Thursday I had and left me feeling even worse.
 
Lemsip cold and flu max + (or whatever it's called)....... hot bath.... another lemsip thingy.... dressing gown on and into bed in the dressing gown.......... sweat like a trooper... wake up and play 18 holes, job done. Repeat the following night if necessary.
 
One of the guys at work has arrived this morning looking like he has just climbed out of his coffin. I wish he would shuffle off home before he gives it to any one else, particularly me.

Any normal boss would send him home, but his boss is a total and utter (fill in what ever your own preferred word is).

Feel for you Homer. Not a good time to get ill.
 
Feeling even worse now. Hardly slept courtesy of constant coughing and sneezing and HID kicked me into the spare room as she couldn't sleep. Dragged my carcass into work as they get really funny if you are sick before booked holiday. Now got what can only be described as a lively stomach which should make the trip to Woburn later interesting. Can't get warm, ache and shivering. Not quite the textbook build up to a game of golf. Think its a case of get to the B&B, find somewhere to get a bit of scoff and hit the sack. Revised estimation - 10 lost balls and 12 points total for the two rounds
 
Beware the injured golfer and all that.

If you really are that bad, as someone has said, might be worth giving Swinger a shout to take your place? I'm sure if he wanted to go, he could transfer you the money so you wouldn't be out of pocket?

Hope you're feeling better for tomorrow, please ensure you're at least 15ft from Bluewolf, Paul and myself at all times, we definitely don't want your man flu. ;)
