Same thing happened to my uncle, he got his first and second holes in one in the same round at Ferndown about 7 years ago.

I hit the pin on the 6th and the 9th a few weeks ago, had 3" tap in on the 6th and a 2 footer on the 9th. Haven't had a hole in one for 18yrs now

A guy at my club did this about 20 years in the same round. First one on the 8th after having a double bogey on the 7th then the second on the 10th after having another double bogey on the 9th.

We had that at our course in 2010, 5th and the 17th.

um...maybe im a killjoy but the quote from said chap was "I first thought the ball was sitting beside the hole but as we approached it dropped into the hole".
Now a par 3 and assumeit is a two ball and benefit of the doubt, he goes second and both hit the green, it is stil going to be a minimum of a minute between his shot and the ball dropping in the hole.
is that still technically a hole in one, maybe im getting mixed up but i thought if the ball doesnt go in within a few seconds, even if it later drops in is it counted as a shot? so technically (if harshly) a two
im prepared to be stood corrected

I've had 2 in consecutive rounds at my now home course but the rounds were separated by 6 months!
Oh and it's reasonable time to get to ball plus 10 secs (I think) so it's fine as a HIO.

I've had two end up about 1ft from the pin in consecutive rounds this year. Thought they both were going in as they both rolled across behind the pin. Gutted.

R&A rule 16-2 Ball Overhanging Hole, covers this.
It states, "When any part of the ball overhangs the lip of the hole, the player is allowed enough time to reach the hole without unreasonable delay and an additional 10 seconds to determine whether the ball is at rest."

I've had 2 on the same hole in the same year...but it was a par-3 course so they don't really count.

I heard about his feat before I went there to play for the first time, they have a hole in one book on the mantlepiece and I looked it up. Next time I went back there the book had filled up and they'd moved on to a new one so unfortunately it's not there to see anymore.

Isn't there some kind of plaque at the hole as a tribute or at the course somewhere. I've not been there but sure I'd read there was.

I don't remember any plaque but there may well be. Are you thinking of the 12th at Woodhall Spa where 2 guys playing a match halved the hole in one?

Played in a Charity day at Bearwood Lakes a few weeks ago. Somebody aced the 14th. I think they said his bar bill was just over £2k. Feck that. I'd rather have missed.

Did he actually offer to buy the drinks or was he forced into it? What would happen if he'd said "Get lost...tradition or no tradition, I'm not spending £2000 on drinks for a bunch of strangers"?
