On behalf of someone else. Situation is thus:

At this person's club they can play the medals on either the Friday or Saturday i.e. the same comp runs across two days.

Each day has their own separate CSS.

On Friday PLAYER A had a net 67, the Friday CSS was 71.

A couple of guys had a net 67s on the Saturday, but the Saturday CSS was only 70

PLAYER A was knocked into overall 4th place.

Any reason why PLAYER A was beaten on countback when he was 4 under the CSS whereas the other 3 were only 3 under the Saturday CSS?

The CCS calculation is purely for the HC adjustments
If they are combine the two days together then it should work on regular countback

Why not just use the SS , worked fine in the good old days :smirk:, would save some time and confusion, especially in open comps where there's VCSS , CSS , SS . FFS make it simple  .
No need to be simple and inaccurate. Use computers and be more accurate.
But why not simply use par for the really simple?

As has been stated, css is purely for HC purposes and has no affect on the outcome of the competition.

Here’s one though, what’s the policy for the setup of the course over these 2 days? e.g change of holes from the Friday to the Saturday??

I’ve been told that because there is 2 separate css then the course can be completely different from one day to the next with regards to tee positions and pin positions. Seems a bit daft when it’s the one competition.

Stays the same , only moved if a hole or tee has been damaged.

Unless they are on successive days (in itself unlikely), it is unlikely that a club or green keeper would maintain exactly the same tee and hole positions.

Many ladies' sections play their main comps on a Tuesday or Thursday, with an Alternate Day on Saturday (for those that work).
A club will not fix the holes for that length of time

Ours are on consecutive days Friday/Saturday.

Not sure about our Ladies' alternate day comps, but the men's are usually played over Saturday & Sunday. Not usual for there to be a change of tee position, but quite frequent for the pin positions move.
