TW - no wonder he's back playing again......

So he is a billionaire, and has loads of women flinging themselves at him.If that doesn't promote golf to young people, they need a rocket up their arse. The tour should give him a bonus. He is doing more for the image of golf than anyone else, and has unselfishly sacrificed his marriage for it. Medal material for services above and beyond?

:D :D :D pure class!

AW: There is a 'slight' difference to me, or anyone, being 'unfaithful', and someone paying for sex with at least 12 women, and allegedly dozens more.

Similarly, I hardly think him losing 'his job' will impact his lifestyle for the rest of his days.....

He has abused his position and reputation, all gained from Golf and the PGA, and so far, no-one has the balls to stand up and say anything and make a stand.
Ditto with footballers.

Get real !

you must be ivory white and squeaky clean.

you should read dear deirdre in the sun the problem is more widespread than you think.

Could you imagine how much making this post would have hurt Murph if Tiger played Ping?
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

"Ditto for footballers" - Homer, did you simply choose to ignore this bit ?

"I'm not sure why the huge downer on him" - That would be because he is simply the most miserable, petulant, sullen, and downright rude individual ever to swing a club. The fact that he is the Worlds No1 doesnt change that.

The guy was possibly THE luckiest man alive, with an absolutely stunning wife & kids, and a Billion $ in the Bank, and it comes out that he has slept with dozens of women 'on the side', and paid them to 'keep quiet', which is nothing more than glorified prostitution, end of.

Even after all that, a hell of a lot of you, and the public at large,...... simply 'idolise' him, which to be brutally honest, tells me more about you than you can imagine.

He has a lot of failings as a human being (who doesn't) and has a lot of talent to be admired too.

I don't see many people on here idolising him, just awe at his ability to play golf - apart from yesterday!

ChrisMc, we understand how you feel about Tiger, but by slagging off others in this forum, you're not helping your arguement.
You are entitled to you views but please accept that others are entitled to theirs too.
I dont care how many women Tiger slept with or paid to keep quiet, his golfing record speaks for itself.
However, is he a role model for kids?
To be seen behaving inappropriately on the course is not what I teach my juniors.
And when compared to other sportsmen who also have behavioural problems, there's a big difference between a temper tantrum and what Tiger did. He must have lied to everyone for years including his friends, colleagues and family to hide what he was getting up to.
And as for those who say he's the reason why the top players are playing for so much money, is that really a good thing?
Should they be playing for on average $1m dollars first prize every week?
I can think of alot better uses for the extra money than helping the rich get richer...but that's probably for another thread.

Bob - I think the only person I'm even close to 'slagging off' is TW ?

I agree with you, the money isnt a good thing. The same as Footballers on £150k/week, its simply immoral.

The 'Role Model' thing is exactly the issue, I'm glad you brought that up.
As the World No1, and as you all point out, THE best Golfer out there, and supposedly responsible for so many kids taking up the game, and inspiring sooooo many others to play the game, buy the gear, etc etc etc, ......brings an enormous responsibility to behave appropriately, and after whats come out about his life, I just think that the Tour should be seen to be taking some form of action against him to, if nothing else, shake him back into some form of decent behaviour, and an enforced layoff might even help his game after last nights debacle.

As for feeling any kind of sympathy that he wont now have access to his kids, (awwwwww), I couldnt give a t@ss. He should have thought about that.
That is exactly why most of us with kids dont stray, even once.

Oh, and if we cant discuss/disagree/argue on a T'Internet Forum ??
None of us are real ya know ?! We're just virtual people with virtual opinions........

The 'role model thing' does my nut in.

People who moan about young sportsmen (or any other profession in the limelight) being unsuitable role models are only trying to find an excuse for their own inability to teach their children right from wrong and what is acceptable behaviour.

Teach children to plough their own path, not look upto someone who hits a ball around a big field with either a stick or their feet.

Just coz he doesn't use a V-easy.

*tut*

;)

I concur with Chris.

The advert of him looking into the camera with his dad's voice in the background as if saying "I lost my way because I lost my best mate and father, I have made mistakes by having affairs and acting like a spoilt child on the course.. I confess my sins"... 3rd hole of his return, throws club down and has a little fit.

Using your late father as a marketing campaign for Nike is just sick and I would have thought the lowest of the low, yet gets over looked.
Totally agree, and summed up Tiger more than anything in his career/private life to date. It's all about me, me, me and the money.

I have asked this before but I will ask it again....are you sure Tiger hasny knobbed your wife?

You must have hated Howard Clark with the same passion....now there WAS a miserable, micy *** who's lip tripped him on the best of days. In fact I could run off dozens of miserable bastards on tour that you must have no time for.

I think the man is getting ever better in my eyes,1st he played golf the way I wanted to then he knobs loads of tidy burds just like I wished I could and now he is playing pish golf just like I do...I can really relate to the great man! :D

No idea where to start. I really don't see what the problem with Woods is. Without him the guys wouldn't be playing for the money they are now. Kids wouldn't be coming into the game from a very early age and which as members of clubs are the backbone of a club continuing successfully.

Sorry, but I'm tired of hearing this claptrap. To suggest that 'kids' have taken the game up in droves because of Woods is fallacious and as the articles in GM show, they are not the backbone of a crumbling club membership system.

He's not the Messiah, he's just a very naughty boy...

"Using your late father as a marketing campaign for Nike is just sick and I would have thought the lowest of the low, yet gets over looked. "

I'd forgotten about that, and in fact, thats worse than all his cheap 'indiscretions' or whatever he tries to call them.

Truly sick, self-centred, and perhaps the best measure of the man imo.

"I think the only person I'm even close to 'slagging off' is TW ?"

That's actually bullshine because you then insinuated that everyone who disagreed with you was in some way, well i dont know, but you were trying to insult people:

"a hell of a lot of you, and the public at large,...... simply 'idolise' him, which to be brutally honest, tells me more about you than you can imagine."

He isnt a great role model - not only because of whats come out, but also because of some of his behaviour. But there are things that kids can be inspired by as well. You dont like him, well in the great scheme of things, so what?

"Using your late father as a marketing campaign for Nike is just sick and I would have thought the lowest of the low, yet gets over looked. "

I would have thought Nike had a big hand in that ad. You could easily say, "Nike using Tigers late father as a marketing campaign is just sick and I would have thought the lowest of the low, yet gets over looked".

No way is Woods the most petulant golfer in the world. Your honour I present exhibit A - Colin Montgomery. Anyone that can get the arse by hearing a moth fart at 30 meters and use the"you're only here because of me" line is a real moaner. He's been caught many times swearing by the mikes, has been known to throw more than the odd club and when was the last time you saw him smile during a round. I've also seen him a la Woods ignore youngsters after a round waiting for an autograph.

Not playboy stuff though, Tiger beats him pants down in that dept. :o
