Trip advice.....

I've got to organise my Captain's trip for next year in the next couple of months and wanted to look at something a bit different from the big hotel "DeVere/Marriott" type trip which is what we usually do. Currently have quotes from Golfbreaks.com for Ramada Hotel Ayr with golf at combinations of:
Belleisle
Lochgreen
Darley
Irvine Bogside

If anyone has experience of either the hotel or the courses especially in respect of condition (would be going in August) then I'd be interested to hear. Cheers.

Depends on which combination of courses. They sent 3 quotes for £175, £215 (I think that's favourite and includes Irvine) and £305 (that included Prestwick just to see how much extra it would be - plenty it seems !!). These are for 2 nights DBB + 3 rounds.

They're all good courses, but with the exception of Bogside they're municipals and get VERY busy.

Other options for you if you want to book the golf separate from the hotel are:

Ayshire Open Qualifier Card.

Prestwick Golf Pass

Exceptional value.

there is a bogside member on here somewhere, he would be your best bet. havent played it but it would be the best course to play

I would be going with the Prestwick Pass.....I have played 2 of the 3 and they were both nice and I aint played the championship which is supposed to be superb.£165 is super value as I am sure it is around £120 for a round at Prestwick!
