Forget about the cameras but there are plenty of comps that have fields off 100 golfers on good quality courses for a lot less than £275 entrance fee.

H4H at West Hill springs to mind. 103 golfers on a superb course. £75 for the day including food. Each to their own.

I play in plenty of pro Ams including celebrity ones with cameras at courses like Stoke Park - it doesn't cost £275.

I wouldnt know the difference between an A or B list but they put their hand in their pocket to raise a lot of money for charity

And they dont have some bloke in hat sat in a high chair looking down on them

I played in it last year at Rockcliffe, and thought it was a bit of a rip off. But these threads are getting a little boring.

It was a great idea at the start but got too big for its boots. Bandits rule the roost. Too expensive for inferior clobber and inferior courses. Not for me

I love watching it on tv. Lets face it, there must be a market out there as it sells out year after year and those who play love the experience.

Personally, I think the courses have gona a little down hill this year. The Worsley Marriot in particular sticks out . Its far from a great course, its a corporate slog fest and the greens appeared to be shocking when iI saw it on tv.
