Don't forget (Deleted By Moderator) paying 275 to play on poor courses.

I did watch report from one regional comp - I don't know what the course was but oh dear - the greens were a terrible state :(

It's stuff like this that angers many people when they're shelling out £275 and they end up playing at some very average tracks with very poor greens.

I don't think it would get half as much stick as it does if the courses reflects the entry fee.

are the courses not announced before entry is comfirmed? I did look at this over the last 2 years and the deal with de vere for using there courses this year is i believe a backward step in course quality.

There are Plenty of other amateurs tours about with lower fees.

Has the venues been announced for 2014 yet? I know they have filled all the places and its now reserve spots only. £275 for a day out and not even knowing what course you are going to? No thanks!

I watched the 2013 matchplay on Youtube, you would think that the Hunt guy had invented matchplay golf the way he was going on.

You will always get those sorts of folk attaching themselves to golf :) Some even think tradition is 'old hat' and needs swept under the carpet of time by the new broom of real golf.

William Hunts name suits him very well

I think it's great how he sits above everyone on his high chair as they tee off

As far as I'm aware the courses are announced after you pay a % deposit. If you don't fancy any of the courses then you lose your deposit.

Mmm not sure that's very appealing can get 36holes at Sunningdale for same entrance fee, or 18 @ Lindrick, beau desert, Woodall and forest pines for an extra £25. I know which I'd rather do.

Plus the cameras won't be there, or 100 players playing against you either.........

And that means it's worth paying 275 quid ?! No thanks

I play in plenty of pro Ams including celebrity ones with cameras at courses like Stoke Park - it doesn't cost £275.

Forget about the cameras but there are plenty of comps that have fields off 100 golfers on good quality courses for a lot less than £275 entrance fee.
