Did you have them dookin' in a tub for it, or trying to wrap their gnashers around a very sticky toffee apple suspended with others like washing on a line (just to lighten this up a little with a bit of remy-nis-kin).i wouldn't have a problem if the parents ever spoke to you or were friendly, other than just to bring there badly behaved brats begging at your door once a year
i give them an apple each the last time any came... not had any since![]()
no, the look of disgust that they were niot getting sweets was enoughDid you have them dookin' in a tub for it, or trying to wrap their gnashers around a very sticky toffee apple suspended with others like washing on a line (just to lighten this up a little with a bit of remy-nis-kin).
Maybe age dependent... in years gone by I can remember 'tricks' such as my parents' cars getting egged. Why do they call it ‘trick or treat’ when everyone always gets a treat? If you say ‘trick’ the kids just look blankly at you
Maybe I'll bash up some of my mum's special tablet - special in that too much of it is guaranteed to rot young (and old) teeth - blimey it's sweet - but it's delicious.no, the look of disgust that they were niot getting sweets was enough![]()
I'm rather hoping for a couple of Covid bonuses. No Trick or Treat and no Fireworks...we and the dogs will be very happy if so!
Fireworks already started where I am, the dog got a horrific fright 2 nights ago.
On what H&S grounds would you ban it permanently? Agreed this year it shouldn't go ahead, but once the world goes back to normal it will continue. Round here it's primary school aged kids, people put a pumpkin out to say they are happy for visitors, and off everyone goes, it's all nice and polite and lots of people getting involved.Another that would like to see it banned from a H&S perspective (ideally permanently). Turning up to a door, getting sweets and all putting their hands in the bowl to pull out the goodies doesn't seem safe and it may not be the kids that get ill but they could easily be spreading it to the parents etc. Just doesn't seem a risk worth taking

Probably not. We have a lot of little ones around our way and the neighbours ask if they can knock and we always say yes. Other groups (usually older and unannounced) don't get a response
I had a bucket with cold jelly and cooked spaghetti and put the sweets in that mix. Hid it in a bag and then the kids had to dip for it. The kids loved it.Did you have them dookin' in a tub for it, or trying to wrap their gnashers around a very sticky toffee apple suspended with others like washing on a line (just to lighten this up a little with a bit of remy-nis-kin).
