Anyone using a Peugeot Tepee mobility car to transport and store a grasshopper buggy - it seems an obvious choice to me - just wondered if anyone uses on and any issues problems.

These cars have a built in ramp so loading appears to be easy.

Thanks

Looking at pictures of one with a ramp things you need to check
is the ramp wide enough, wheel chairs are narrower?
is there sufficient length for the buggy, wheel chairs are much shorter?

When I had a test drive of my Peugeot the dealer let me try getting my buggy in the back of one, I just use standard triplette ramps with the rear seats folded forward.

I have a Peugeot 2008. I use a standard set of triplette ramps to get the buggy in with teh rear seats folded forward.
I have a Grasshopper buggy and just need to take the seat off before driving it in the car (in reverse), but obviuosly not sitting on it, I just hold on the handle bar to guide it in from the rear part way, then have to use the car back side door and with the handle bar lowered finish it getting it in. Yo need szome sort of non slip cushioning undre the raps to avoid damage tot he car and the ramps slipping of it . Ramps then slide together and go under the buggy.

Triplette ramp is similar to this just 3 sections and not 2 (do a search on telescopic ramps)

Hi Jim8flog,

Thank you for your detailed and informative reply.
I think I am going for the Peugeot Tepee that has been adapted for wheelchair access - it has a built in ramp and a winch to pull up the buggy.

I have been to see one and measured the back - it will easily take the Grasshopper Cobra.

I was interested to see you load your buggy backwards - the UTUBE videos all show buggies being loaded front end first - but loading backwards seems practical.

thank you again

best wishes,

I load backwards simply because I am standing behind it controlling direction and speed, holding on to the handlebar.
When I put in to our buggy storage area I do the same because it easier to control it that way.

Re the winch - back when I had a Powa Kaddy buggy (now Electro Kart) they specifically said it should not be towed. You are moving the buggy with the braking component engaged. If you are going to do it that way I would suggest turning the levers on the rear of the motors so that it free wheels, although they are not easy to get at on a Grasshopper buggy, remembering to re-engage them them it is in the car. I also use wheel chocks behind the wheel to help stop it sliding when accelerating/braking. Although it has been built for a wheelchair with clamps to tie the wheelchair down I cannot think where they would fit on the buggy as it has no exposed frame parts.
