We went to Manchester at the weekend, and me trying to keep up with technology, used Trainline and booked tickets on their app like I usually do. Unfortunately, I booked the wrong date for the outbound travel. Could I get this changed? The app didn't work, and no telephone calls were getting though. I ended up paying at the station for another ticket. So on Monday when we had got back I called Trainline to try and get a refund, even though the tickets I had bought did not allow for refunds. I got though on their phone line and spoke to a nice guy who immediately said no problem I'll refund it. No quibble, question, or anything. The money landed back in my account yesterday. Finally a company that listens and responds quickly. Just thought I'd let everyone know, it not all doom and gloom out there.

In timing with the post above, yesterday we received the refund for the taxi we ended up taking when the replacement bus service on a train journey failed to appear. It took a few weeks but the process was not particularly tricky and there were no quibbles.

Ideally, these things would be easier to do but it is not always a negative. (I'm still never getting a train again when engineering works are booked in 😵‍💫)
