I've just been on a gliding and golfing holiday in the Deeside area of Scotland. Compared with my local town in Southern England, which becomes gridlocked in the morning and evening rush hours, I was amazed how little traffic there was on the roads in any of the local towns up there. Basically you could just get in your car and drive straight to where you wanted to go, even at the peak of the morning rush hour between 08.00 and 09.00. The only Scottish town that caused even the slightest hold up was Perth, and even that was pretty minor by Greater London standards. I suppose the difference is that most of the illegal and economic migrants have chosen to move to the London area and the other big city areas in England. So we either need to persuade more of them to move up North, or else us native Brits should leave them to do their thing in the South-East and move up north ourselves! :mmm:

Delc, the gift that just keeps giving.
Hope this bit in bold is tongue in cheek.

I think it's a great idea Rick, in fact why don't we all move to the frozen wastes of Canada and leave them all to it

you obviously didn't go anywhere near Aberdeen between 8 and 9 then?

Have you not thought that it may be something to do with that fact that more people live in London than do in the whole of Scotland? And sod all to do with illegal or economic migrants.

(And in any case, most of 'em are Scottish. There's more of them down here than up there. Send 'em back I say, send 'em back. :) )

You should move to where I live and have to deal with sheep on single track roads.
Sometimes they can cause delays that last for over a minute.

Driving down to South Englandshire next week......not looking forward to driving on roads clogged with illegal immigrants.

Or edinburgh or the m8.

In fairness, though, the traffic around London is much worse. Don't know how they put up with it sometimes. No choice, I guess.

Well we are heartily fed up with the traffic in our area - a nightmare - but we are fortunate that we can do something about it and will be transporting ourselves north - possibly to Scotland - in a few years time. Just grim down here.

Del you don't half spout some nonsense , everybody knows that the reason there are less people in Scotland is because of the hoards of midges especially during the summer months.
And I've heard that the SNP own several Midge breeding farms.:)
Down in South Englandshire we have far fewer midges , therefore it's hardly surprising that more people live here.

Your comments about illegals and migrants are way off the mark . Again

I was in driving in Perth on Friday morning and the only hold up I had was from some idiot towing a glider trailer through the city centre.
