Traffic in Scotland!

I've just been on a gliding and golfing holiday in the Deeside area of Scotland. Compared with my local town in Southern England, which becomes gridlocked in the morning and evening rush hours, I was amazed how little traffic there was on the roads in any of the local towns up there. Basically you could just get in your car and drive straight to where you wanted to go, even at the peak of the morning rush hour between 08.00 and 09.00. The only Scottish town that caused even the slightest hold up was Perth, and even that was pretty minor by Greater London standards. I suppose the difference is that most of the illegal and economic migrants have chosen to move to the London area and the other big city areas in England. So we either need to persuade more of them to move up North, or else us native Brits should leave them to do their thing in the South-East and move up north ourselves! :mmm:

Not sure if serious??

Do you honestly believe this or are you just on the wind up??

They tried that by having 5 lanes on the M25. Now they have 3 inside lanes empty.

Hmmm. Perhaps have seperate lanes for immigrants, Londoners, tourists and other indigenous Brits?

That way the traffic keeps moving and Del can keep a close eye on the numbers of immigrants in and around London/South East. It's a win win.

People live in cities shocker.

What an ignorant post. Probably advisable if you go and live in a hut in the middle of nowhere with the rest of your "native Brits"

Around 8.6 million people live in London. That's an area of 1.5k km2.

Total population of Scotland, around 5.3 million spread out over 78k km2.

Yeah, I wonder why it seems "busier"

The issue is that a lot more people live in the big cities, particularly the Greater London area, than was the case 15 or 20 years ago, but the roads, schools, hospitals, housing and other public services have not been expanded to match. A lot of the immigrants that the last New Labour government allowed to flood into the country now have school age children, so term times generate gridlocked traffic in the morning and afternoon rush hours. It can often take me an hour to travel 3miles into the middle of my local town. It is also very difficult to get a doctors appointment. Nothing personally against these immigrants, but Government policy has seriously degraded my quality of life as an existing citizen of the U.K!

OK got my popcorn ready and have settled into a comfy seat for this thread to really get going ..... :D

Well we are heartily fed up with the traffic in our area - a nightmare - but we are fortunate that we can do something about it and will be transporting ourselves north - possibly to Scotland - in a few years time. Just grim down here.

See you later then and take Delc with you

I dont know about the other northerners, but I wouldn't live in London for a big clock.

Even if you trebled my wages. Good to visit bit couldn't live there.

Great post there sir. Farage, a fellow swivel eyed loon, would be proud.

How long ago was it that Delc spouted the same utter nonsense ??

Last year I believe he complained that it took him an extra 15 mins to get to the golf club in the morning because of the extra immigrants driving around in his area
