Hi All,

Apologies if this has been discussed before, I've done a search and can't find any specific threads on them!

Does anyone use Tour Sticks as a training aid?

They are cheap and seem to have a variety of uses, what's everyones take on them??

I've started to use for a few things including alignment and to improve my take away. Also used them as mock flage sticks for chipping practice and also placerd one a few feet behind the ball to stop me from scooping pitches. On the putting green to improve my stroke and also placed them either side of the hole to improve my putting. For £8 off of ebay you can't grumble. I am sure there loads more uses that I will eventually use it for.

I use them for setting up a track for practice, helps with lining everything up properly and taking the club back correctly. Also useful to make a ball position aid if you cross them at right angles.
Noticed Paul Casey had them in his bag during the WGC matchplay tournament, not sure why.

I use mine for alignment, for full shots, chipping and putting. I also hang my glove off them when putting out (no back pocket posing for me then).

I would consider getting some as them seem useful. However, I see (mainly juniors) at the matches having them in the bag, ask them why they have them and then it is just because all the pros do. Really annoys me when you then have to give them 9 shots!

stick the name 'tour' on any golf related product and golfers will buy it! ;)

I use them for alignment and with my pro as an aid if we're looking at swing plane. They are great on the putting green too to keep the blade square if you don't have your V-Easy to hand. They are pretty cheap and do what they say on the label

DOH !!!
I guess it's too late to change mine :(

not really - when you come to batch 2, reprint the instructions (that A4's a bit flimsy) adding all those extra uses - chop sticks etc and call it the V-easy (tour edition)

wouldn't hurt to get Sophie Sandolo to do the demo photos - I hear she's a mean hand with a camera :D

What, you mean she should take more photos of me using it????? ;)
And as for batch 2, too late, they're already being made. :D

You might just want to check out the website below. ;)

Blatant plug. But what the hell!

I've looked at several different types, and the ones we offer are unusual in that they are tapered at one end. Therefore making it easier to stick into the ground to use as a gate 'down-the-line'.

That is one of their many uses of course.

Link to the 'alignment' section of the website.

Other similar products available from all good retailers. :D

Happy to help.

Not at all. Next time you make a small change to the V-easy, you can relaunch it as "V-easy tour spec"

If you called it "V-easy, players blade version" I'd expect every high h'cap on here will want them cause cavity backed clubs are so passé.

Or "V-easy....thin top line" :p

No, but I would if it wasn't for every wanna-be junior who leaves them sticking out the bag for 18 holes to look cool.

Kids eh? You got to love 'em or beat them with a 3 iron.

We have two sorts of juniors at mine.
1) carry bag, Titleist AP irons, nice Yes! putter or Scotty.
Good players, good company.
2) tour-size cart bag, powakaddy lithium, Mizuno mp60s, tour sticks , leave their trolley in front of the green. Mark their cards on the front of the green. Hit their 5 irons 225 yards but can't get under 90 on a Sunday.
Bad players, bad company.

:o

I think you'd safely fall into the right category. :)
Just remember to leave the sticks at home (or hidden in the bag) and if you do get a trolley, make sure it's not the most expensive available.
I'll forgive you the 225 yard 5 iron as I know you can get round in less than 90....that's a given.
