Hi all,

Just after a bit of first hand experience, looking at going to the BMW at Wentworth for the Sunday with a mate, never been to any professional tournaments before but just fancied going to one for the experience.
Who has been to any in the past and did it live up to expectation?

Cheer

Hi Rich
Welcome to the forum

The BMW at Wentworth is a great event, its busy, but plenty of room apart from the 18th green at 5pm Sunday

One thing I did last year was to go on the Wednesday to watch the Pro Am, All the names are out and you get the chance to see them up close, get some autographs and look at their swings, and it was only £10 last year

Im deffo going again this year,

I've attended quite a few over the years and I normally like to pick a good three ball (not necessarily the really top names) and follow them round for the full round. The remainder of the day I'm quite happy to sit in one of the stands or flit between the practice range/tented village.

If you're attending a tournament for the first time then I'd also suggest that you stand behind one of the teeing areas and you'll probably be astounded at the power the pros generate and the resulting length of the "air time."

Enjoy.

I have been to a few over the years, but the best one was at 'The Doral' five years ago. I just happened to be on a family holiday when the event was on so I dropped them off in Miami and then spent all day there. I was there on the Sunday and it was the year Ogilvy won. (That is where my profile picture came from, I'm the "I"). Obviously you do not see as much golf at a tournament as you do on the telly, but you do see close up how good these guys really are. Their short games are just amazing. If you are a golfer then you need to see at least one pro tournament up close.
