So with a surprise French leader at this point, the UCI have taken the opportunity to expel two significant team members from opposing teams, including the Road Captain of the British defending champions team, over a bit of handbags.

So any good work done in trying to clear out the drugs cheats disappears in the stench of a perceived fix.

Absolutely laughable; well done UCI.

I should add, Alaphillepe is there on merit not cause a couple of riders have thrown out, he's on his knees and will do well to hang on to the jersey for the next two days with summit finishes.

Classic 'blazer' logic...

He is not a surprise at all, he has been at the front end of the tour for the past few years, the two that got banned deserved it, it was against the rules and good on the UCI for banning them,

He's being dropped now, how are UCI going to fix this now for a French winner with one abandoned and the other off the back. Some are saying he could lose 20 minutes here.

Both admitted they were in the wrong and shouldn't carried on the way they did.

Yep good on the UCI. Curiously enough when Carlos Barreda and Rui Costa were throwing punches and wheels at each other, both were allowed to remain in, a bit of relative handbags and both are kicked out, thus weakening the strongest challengers to a Frenchman hanging on by the skin of his teeth and who won't have the advantage of a descent after the summit on the last 2 stages. Yrs they admitted they were wrong, they hand also ridden over the line together, shaken hands and put it behind them before the UCI ever got involved.

Complete lack of consistency.

What had been quite a dull tour has burst into life the last few days, think were about to find out how good Bernal is, I hope he isnt curtailed by team orders at some point!

The tour always comes to life in the last week, it's when the riders have the most to gain and most to lose while they are all spent.

for sure but you usually get some excitement in the earlier weeks, just not been there for me this year, that said Ive seen less of it than previous years because of the cricket

wow reporting stage cancelled, Bernal now in yellow!

Well that gives the French an excuse...although they may yet change the decision somehow! I can't see he'd have made that much time back on the descent.
