I played a double-dog-leg par 5 today. Think of an "S" and you be close. The drive is best down the right, then a mid-iron quite forcefully "hooked" leaves a straight wedge or short club. Tree-lined all the way to 100 yards, it's quite a test.
IF you can drive the ball straight 300 yards, you can probably hit another straight one 240-250....other than that, it's got to be two shaped shots to leave an easy 3rd.
