Having played great for a couple of weeks and shooting a couple of good scores culminating in an 81 at a local course with a 7 and two 6's on the card, I have lost my swing. I felt like the only way was up and my swing was in as good a shape as ever, how wrong was I?! I'm not sure whats happened but in the last few weeks I have just went downhill so fast, I've went up to the range to practice, but just keep shanking it right or hitting it low and hard. Usually a few range sessions help me out and I can find my swing again, but this time it isn't coming back. It's almost as if my brain has a block on how to swing, has this ever happened to anyone? I'm so frustrated...........on the plus side I'm off to my first open next week and buzzing with excitement, I'm sure I can learn a thing or two from those guys.

I know this feeling all to well and it has happened to me all too often over last year as I have taken up the game. Cute for me is slow everything down - 9 iron at the range, keeping it very slow and working down the irons as imperfect the shots on each one.

Welcome to Golf!

If this hasn't happened a number of times, you haven't been playing long enough!

Ignore shanks on the range, unless they are happening frequently on the course too. Though it's not a good idea to practice them! :D The mats are often the cause imo. When I've had several, normally with wedges, I simply switch to practicing Woods.

you only borrow the golf swing...................

get back to basics........and you'll see improvement
