The Pagani was an ugly car mind!
Although must admit I actually enjoyed the show, wasn't much point in Damian Lewis's lap mind.

I gave up on Top Gear a few series ago, when it stop being a show about cars and became a show piece for Clarksons soap box :sbox:. Now they just seem to want to act like its a jolly boys day out trying act like a more refined Jack Ass on wheels instead of showing us what the cars actually about.

It's been like that for a good few years now and one of the main reasons I lost interest.
I used to watch Top Gear for the exotica of motoring Ferrari, Koerrniwhatsamethings, Porsche and the like.
Now all they do is build and electric car, or a amphibious(sp?) car or find out whats faster through London out of a car, boat and cycleist. Where, in any of that is there any sensible consumer advice with a bit of car porn thrown in.
Bring back Noel Edmonds, William Woollard, Sue Baker, Frank Page and Chris Goffey :whoo:

For entertainment Top Gear is decent. Some of the challenges coming up look funny....But for a car show where they test and review cars then 5th Gear is brilliant.

Top Gear is an entertainment show, didn't they win an award a few years back for best entertainment show without a script?
If you want motoring reviews and car related info then watch 5th Gear, if you want an hour where you can take you brain out and chill watch Top Gear.

It says that people enjoy being entertained. It doesn't claim to be a car review show, there's plenty of those on the minor channels (Motors, Ch5 etc.).
I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Pagani looks to be a fabulous vehicle, and IMHO is gorgeous apart from the desk lamp style wing mirrors. The Bentley was a demonstration of engineering excellence. The P45 was something called, a bit of fun. Where's the harm in that?

Its become a bit of a parody of itself these days, I don't watch it anymore as I don't feel it's particularly different in anyways from series to series. They do the same sort of things and I don't learn anything about the new cars that are being released.

It's entertainment not a review show, it doesn't pretend to be anything else.
Loved it last night, howled laughing when Clarkson took the P45 thing on the A3. 1 hour of decent programming amongst the dross that's on most of the time isn't too much to ask. Only criticism is that there are never enough shows in the series.

Thought the Dragon's Den segment was a bit weak but the rest of the show was pretty good.
There's very few shows for fellas to just chill out and watch for entertainment, rather than actually having to concentrate.
Prefer the challenge-type episodes but it sure beat Song's of Praise, or whatever was on t'other side.

Very poor show and not bothered based on that first episode if I miss the rest.
The P45 car saga was far too long and the Dragons Den was like a classroom attempt at drama for 8 year old's.
I enjoyed the Bentley being driven on the Welsh rally track and the interview with Damien Lewis but that was it.
And, without sounding or attempting to be sexist, what's with the huge amount of women now at the studio? Are there really that many women interested in cars, even those wearing fur coats, or have the 3 of them got a cult following!

I heard that they give out free tickets to the WRI.

All tickets are free, but with a VERY long waiting list. But the production company have the criteria that at least 50% of the ticket holders must be female. I was allocated 4 tickets a number of years ago, 2 must have been for females. If I arrived with less than the required allocation we wouldn't have been allowed in. Unfortunately I had to return the tickets
