I have a lesson tomorrow so planning on asking my pro about this, but I've just returned from the course and I'm keen to put it right so thought i'd ask here.
With my longer clubs I am hitting the ball with a lot of height and even more backspin. I will hit what feels like a decent shot and it will "float" about 190 yards max, with the driver, down the fairway. Obviously when i slice it/am playing into the wind it is going even shorter.
My iron shots have improved massively over the last few weeks thanks to my lessons but today i don't think i had a 2nd shot within 150 yards because I was so poor off the tee. My irons are also probably shorter than they should be but not to the extent of the longer clubs.
So, to the experts out there, what generally causes this problem and how do i fix it?
