Tm rocketblades - anyone had a bash?

Not tried them but had a look at them in my local golf emporium, just looked a bit tacky to me. The shaft label has "Rocketfuel" stamped on it, bit boy racer'ish to me.

Yes that does sound very erm... Crap!!! rocketfuel is a little cheap an tacky.

I still hate owning clubs called Rocketballs 

I still want to know what happens when the speed slot thingy gets filled with crap.

I'm also going to test one against one of my Burners to see if TM statements are a load of bull.

I do think now TM are just going a tad too far
You cant blame them, they spend more money on advertising then anyone else and it works
Any Shaft that's got rocket fuel labelled on it , is something you gotta laugh at
But in reality people will buy them despite the name
What name would it take before people just said OK that's too much

The other side of that is doesn't matter the name just depends how you play with them

Has anyone hit them yet? They are available at AG now aren't they?

So anyone out there had a bash?

Not tried them or even looked at them for that matter. If I'm honest, TMs naming, marketing and seemingly constant introduction of new clubs is becoming a bit laughable to the extent I'm struggling to take them seriously. Just my opinion of course.

Had a look at some in Nevada Bobs the other day, I thought they looked really chunky from above, more so than my current RBZs. However I did notice that they are now knocking out R11s for £299. Tempting!!

Yeah my mate said they had silicon in the slot but surely it will get chipped away and look a right mess after a few months???

I'm not feeling them but if they are a game changer like TM are saying then who knows.

TM are also saying that if you don't have a speed slot in your irons then your irons are out of date, nice for the people who bought Rocketballz irons a few months back!!!

Where to start, having let dg customers try them and watch them hit the ball very very high I opted to give them a go and with a 7 iron I managed 139yds with a back spin rate of 7830 and only 269 side spin. I never thought the ball would come down. If your someone who hits a low ball then this could be a benefit to you. I have both taylormade mb's and master model irons and neither hit that high, and I gain around 25yrds with my own irons. I have a lower launch and lower spin rate.
Pop into any dg or ag store and try and test them. What's good for one is not good for another. Tp rbz looks good and pro feedback in testing has been good.

Lee - is it right that the 7 iron and up have the slot but the 8 iron down doesn't?

If so, surely this is going to leave a huge gap between 7 and 8.....

Imurg, your right 7-4 or 3 if available will have the power slot. This is aimed to increase hight on longer irons as larger golf companies seem to believe amature golfers struggle to get hight on longer irons.
Yes some people may struggle but most are able to do very well.
I think your right about the distance, but I would be interested to see how many yards it does in fact add. May give it ago when I'm back in the mk store on Wednesday.

Jesus, Tm knock out new irons /drivers more often than Apple kick out new iPhones/ipds/mini iPads etc

It's all a bit of a mickey take how much better (supposedly) the new stuff quick outdates the last new big thing!

I had a look in AG too over the weekend didn't bother having a go though they were too chunky from Topline for my preference.Planning to have another look at the tour version in feb.
The speed slot didn't seem that noticeable on first glance.
Notice the tour version has had its 1st pro win with Sean O Hair at the shark shootout.

Is it true the 7 iron has a loft of 30.5 degrees & is that really a 7 iron just because it has a number 7 stamped on it?

This pretty much sums it up for me.

Yes, but it also means you can get some good deals. My local golf emporium was knocking out RBZ fairways at £99 and hybrids at £70 this weekend. Which I think is a good deal.

If you want TMs then I'd say just wait till a new model is just about to come out, TM being TM means it won't be long. Then get the existing model at knock down prices. At worst the technology gubbins in them will be 1 year old, sometimes less.
