I popped in for the first time yesterday and was quite supprised. They had loads of Sunice, Ping, Sunderland, Callaway and many more labels, the only problem was that 80% of it was XL or XXL :D was nice to be able to pop into town and check out golf stuff, I walked away with a Sunderland windshirt that could have been bought for the same price online but after spending 30 minutes looking I felt I best buy something lol.

Overall pretty impressed and shall be looking again today if this hangover will go.

I have not been myself but my mate turned up on the course with a lovely Ping polo this week = £8 at TK Maxx

:) Chavtastic :)

I must say there was some dodgy golfing kit there as well, I found a tommy H long sleve polo for £20 but with this beer belly it might be a tad too much ;)

They do some good golf clothing in mine, all sizes, from small through to XXXL. & seeing as brands like Ashworth are generous with their sizing, those latter ones look like tents. I can normally find something to fit me in amoungst everything, though sods/murphys law dictates that the one I really want will be in a size other than what I need, whether smaller or largerer than Medium or Large I'd normally go for, depending upon the cut.

BTW its always worth checking the reduced stuff, occasionally you can drop really lucky. My only gripe with TK.Maxx is that their trousers are often of the longer leg variety in ours, which is great for the bean poles amoungst us, but no good for your average 5'8" - 5'9" goeffer..!

tbh I was quite shocked, I was expecting dunlop and other crap in there as not been into TK Maxx before, there was a very nice Sunice Goretex jacket but huge, there was also a Nike storm jacket for £60 reduced from £120. I did notice though that most of the stuff on sale is available online for the same price in the sales.

You have to remember that TKMaxx are shifting what is essentially remaindered stock - ie stuff that's not shifted through the usual outlets. Hence the amount of XXL, XXS etc. The "normal" sized stuff shifts more easily in the regular outlets. If TKMaxx have a lot of the common sizes, it tends to mean that, for whatever reason, the item wasn't a particularly popular line.

Always worth a look in there though (if there's a good reason you're not at the course that is :D)

yea hapless, it is just you!
I have found a couple of tshirts and wind beaters in the past though ebay is good for this as well having picked up a couple of tshirts and sleeveless tops. you can wear what you like too when shopping there ;)

I'm a regular in ours.
Picked up a Callaway Windshirt for £12.50 the other day.
They don't always have much in the way of Polo shirts but sometimes...

The only thing I don't like about TK Maxx is the amount of rumaging you've got to go through to find something in your size. Even if you go through the XL stuff you can bet your bottom dollar the bloody selection is full of S, M & L.
It's like a jumble sale

The girlfriend comes home every week with tops for me and jeans

She likes the fact that people have to rumage to find the good stuff because noone does she finds some great stuff

Cashmere sweater for a pound is the best i had

it's not just you hapless'. can't stand the place, anything you want has been dragged across the floor half-a-dozen times. found lots of torn stuff and gear that has been worn and put back on the rails - tickets in the pockets etc.

T K Maxx in Preston is great for golf shirts,There`s no need to rumage, all the golf gear has a dedicated rail.
All sizes all colours, they may be last years model, but only fashionistas would know, and yes,Ashworth gear is generously
cut, usually take a large in other makes but with Ashworth
a medium fits with room to spare. They normally sell for £19
but if you go in on the right day you can get a bargain.
Got TWO shirts last week for £18.fantastic.Must admit I
never seem to find trousers to fit.

Not been to one in years. Everything was a mess on the shelves so you couldn't find anything and it looked like it had all been across the floor several times. I'd rather pay a few quid more to my pro or online

Parmo, is it the crown point one you went to?

I have had a few woodworm tops from there. Very good price.

Yeah Vig, picked up a Ping Polo & sweet wind shirt today and HID got a GILL gilet, Ashworth polo and Ping polo for about £25!!! great stuff. I found that not all golf gear is in the golf section but in the normal area.

Never thought about looking in TK Maxx for golf gear. The Aberdeen one is on the same retail park as Halfords so I tend to have a wander round there while HID digs through the racks.
Might have a wee look in the coming week.
