Titliest 712mb's or Nike VR pro's?

Mrs Hobbit has decided, as the domestic treasurer, that I can have some new irons... might have something to do with me buying her a car thisafternoon.

So guys, and girls, what's it to be? Do I go for the 712's or the Nike's? And no it won't be Mizzy's, they're horrible.

the 712s for me, though personally Id be going for a combi set with the longer irons in the CBs and the shorter irons in the MBs (must stay away from the fitting centre lol)

Not a fan of Nike so has to be the Titleists. Cracking clubs but a beast to hit. Still with your handicap that should not be that much of an issue.

As much as I love titleist, I would go Nike pro combo.

Personally I'd say why limit yourself to just two options and especially the Mizzy range. It isn't always about the looks

Donald is switching to the new MP-59s, he doesn't change clubs that often so they must be good. The aren't the nicest to look at from the back, but they are supposed to be long and relatively forgiving..

They are stunning. One of the lads I go round with has them. I had a hit with them and they look super and feel great however they are an unforgiving brute if you do not hit one flush they let you know about it. Wouldn't fancy thinning one on a cold winters day with these. The that has them plays off +2 so it does not cause him much of a problem:smirk:

my daughter has the nike pro combo's and she tried the Titleist and the nike's. The nike's have a much softer feel than the titleist, so DEF the NIKE

I was really surprised I ended up with Nike irons.

Don't really like Nike, but they do make some good kit these days. I've got the forged split cavity irons and they really are very good.

Not as "classic" as Titleist but do the job.

I opted for the Nike VR ProCombos over the Titleist CBs in April last year. Both great looking sets and felt great to hit.

The long irons were the deciding factor for me, specifically the pocket cavity on the 3-5 iron which I feel made a large difference in favour of the Nikes.

Of the two my initial preference would be for the 712's, a lovely looking club, but I have been hearing great things about Nike clubs lately and these ones do look soooo nice. I assume you will go and hit them both but doubt you could go wrong with either.

And no it won't be Mizzy's, they're horrible.

Out of interest, why dont you like the Mizzys, a recent thread about 'who plays blades still' and they were mentioned over and over? Just curious.....

I can understand people preferring the Titleist over the Nike on golfing pedigree, but I'm surprised so many people think the Titleist looks nicer than the Nike, but they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
