After working hard and taking lessons I have made a significant improvement with my irons and have decided that I am going to treat myself to some new bats. I have always wanted a set of Titleist irons and the new ones have just been realeased so it is time to take the leap. I am not a member of a club (I will be shortly though) but I have been playing social golf off 22 and although it has not been in competition I have had a few rounds under 85 recently. I am currently playing with Cobra Amp Cell irons that are game improvement irons but I am now unsure whether the 716 AP1's or AP2's would suit me best? Your views would be great guys.

If you've got the readies for them, go get a shot of them all. You know never know which ones would suit. The stats would have you using AP1's but they might not feel right or look good for you. I hate chunky GI irons even though I should use them.

You should play the most forgiving irons you can stand looking at. Best way to find that out is to go and hit a load of sets. You might like the look of the new Titleists, but there could easily be something else that performs better for you, or you like the look of better at address. My advice would be to go and hit loads of sets and see what works. Good luck!

I've got a combo set of 714s, 4-6 are AP1 and 7-PW are AP2. I find that there's a noticeable difference in forgiveness from the AP1s to the AP2s. I adore the look of the AP2s (the AP1s aren't exactly ugly mind you) but the extra help with the longer irons is ideal.

I so wanted to hit the AP1's well at the Titleist demo day but the AP2 were the better match for me. Try both, ideally on a monitor and see what they perform like

thats surprising as you play the offset i25 irons.

at the OP, the 716 AP1 is getting rave reviews from everyone whilst the CB AP2 and MB are not, apart from looks
