Looking for a little advice.

I have a handicap of 21 and my mate who is a pro gave me the above driver. Driving is one of my most inconsistent parts of my game.

When i really connect with my driver it goes a long way but too often i don't hit it out the middle and having seen a few comments on here about titleist drivers and the size of the sweet spot i am wondering if i would benefit with a more forgiving driver?

Any advice much appreciated.

I think this is one of the longest drivers I have ever hit. Unfortunately it also has one of the smallest sweet spots and if you miss it you will lose a lot of distance.

I now use a 905R which is excellent and has a much bigger sweet spot. Can be had for sensible money.

If you have a bigger budget my playing partner has just got an R9 Supertri. Tried it at the weekend and despite the loft being 2 degrees to much for me it still went miles. He drove better than I have ever seen him. I think he hit all but one fairway.

Have to agree there , i had a 909 d2 ,it was long when hit out of the middle but the sweetspot was the size of 1 pence piece, try a Ping G10 or 15.

If you are currently using the 983K just remember that it IS a decent club. Don't go standing there thinking you've got a naff piece of tin in your hands. I'd say it was the best club of the past 10years. Mine is sitting in the shed waiting for the FTiQ to start playing up!

Yeah there is no doubt about that as when i get it out the middle it feels amazing. Just think i might benefit from something with a larger sweet spot? No harm in test driving a few i suppose.
