I'll try to keep this basic.

I have a graphite shaft on my woods.

I have steel shafts on my irons.

At the range, I can hit 50 iron shots pretty well. Then I get the woods out and do pretty fine.

ISSUE: When I go back to the irons after the big sticks they feel HEAVY as hell and I struggle to hit them. Iron play is my weakness on the course too.

Is it time to consider getting graphite shafts on the irons?

Bit extreme m8. You can get lightweight steel shafts which you could change to but risky without trying them first or getting a fitting.

What shafts are in your irons just now?

Practice on the range like you would play on the course.
Hit a drive then a iron a wedge a drive etc playing your course in your head as you go.

Get the swingweights checked (not the same as the dead weight of the club!). This is related to how heavy the clubs feel when they are above your head - i.e. when you swing them. You might benefit from SW of D0 or even a C9.

Lighter steel shafts may help as they will bring down the overall weight of the club, but they still need to be carefully built to come out to a SW which suits your swing speed and athletic ability, etc.
