Hi guys, just a brief note to say that my project scratch blog has moved to

http://projectscratch-tiger.blogspot.com.

It's taken me quite a while to port everything over so will hopefully tidy it up and add more content over the course of the month. I hope to see you on the site soon.

In terms of progress I think I am making headway. Still don't have a 3 wood yet but have narrowed it down to one club and two shaft choices.. Hopefully will get it sorted soon and in the bag.

Had my worst performance in terms of GIR and FIR over the weekend but posted my best score 105 (still trying to crack 100). But pleased that it shows that my scrambling skills are improving. Hope everyone else is fairing well - how are the other high handicappers getting on with their 2010 ambitions.

Well, after an 89 and 42 points last week I thought I was heading in the right direction, but this weekend brought be back to earth with a bump.

Played in the roll up on Saturday, scored 29 points with 5 blobs.... so inconsistent I could probably hit a cows backside with a banjo one swing, and not the next.

Mind you, putting really let me down Saturday. I think I three putted 6 greens, which is unlike me. May have to stick the Rife Bimini back in the locker and dust off the trusty Redwood...I'll put that down to an experiment gone wrong!!! :)

Hi Tiger, glad to hear your still making good progress. weldone on the PB 105.

My games improving all the time, quite pleased with my iron play now and even starting to see a slight improvement in the woods.

But the area stopping me scoring well is my short game. Too many rubbish chips and 3+ putts. Get this sorted and I can see myself shooting under 110 soon.

Practice for the next few weeks will be
Pitch, chip, putt
Pitch, chip, putt
Pitch, chip, putt

and repeat until my back gives in.

I'm getting under 100 fairly consistently now. 5 out of the last 6 rounds, so if I can take that to a comp or two, I'm hoping to get cut a couple of shots in the next couple of months.

Redwood there's no way a score of 89 is a one off. You probably expect more of yourself now and that extra pressure is having a negative impact. Sure you'll be sub 90 again in no time!

iGolf totally agree with you on the short game front. Had a mare when I hit my PB but short game was markedly improved. If only I could keep the ball in play. Think I still need to balance work on my woods and long irons with the same rinse repeat short game cycle as you.

FourPutt great to hear you've made real progress. With that kind of consistency a cut should definitely be on the cards!! Well played that man.

Homer so far blogspot feels a lot easier to use and now I've got full control of the blog there are a few changes I can put into play that will hopefully make it more interesting. Hope the lesson is a help it's been great to see a little positivity creep back in. Hope you build on that as it will be your bedrock :D

How are the other high handicappers doing? Seen Fragger finally beat imurg, Deke & Hapless how are you getting on?

I'm generally 50:50 whether I'm gonna break 100 at the moment - generally in the range 96 to 104.
One day soon I'm gonna shoot a reyt score! last two games the front 9 has been 44 & 46 respectively, followed by three horrible holes!
One of my targets for the year which was to beat a mate of mine (18 hcp) on gross scores was achieved a couple of weeks ago when he had a stinker!

I feel its just inconsistency holding me back mainly off the tee - it feels like I can do exactly the same thing which could result in a sweet dead straight & long strike (say 30% of the time) an acceptable shot ( a bit high so losing distance and/or a bit left or right but ok - say 50% of the time) or an 20 yard duffer (20%).

Loving it all though - averaging nearly a game a week which is good for me!

Good to hear you're playing more definitely loving it as well at the moment with the blossom out. Totally with you on accuracy off the tee. I must lose 10-15 shots a round because of poor tee shots which would take me from 105-110 down to 90/95 and on course for the 18 h/c target I set myself.

Are you taking a driver off the tee? Up till now I've been using. 4/5 iron but hoping the step up to 3 wood will give me more length, reliability and less pressure.

I'm sure you'll be consistently breaking 100 soon.
