The principle is the same as, for example, Nadal or Federer being sidelined for 8 months. All tennis fans bar none would want to see them back asap.

Even the players who are steeping up will want him back. Who wants to be the first world number 1 PT (post Tiger)?

Anyone else coming back after a long lay off would have no chance of winning, remember when els came back after hurting his wrist,he struggled!!

But this guy is just unbelievable at doing the unexpected so I fully expect him to be ready and providing he has the stamina for the event, one of the favourites!!!

Isn't the old adage..."Beware the injured golfer".

Fair enough he'ssuposed to be recovered, but I think the mind set will be the same, as if he were.

So beware all those playing in that comp. The MAN is back... Not really a Tiger fan, but certainly have great respect for his tallent, though hope we'll hear a lot less of him now he's back, as I really don't think I could take much more of hearing about him whilst he's not played.... I mean...! The guy's not played & we hear nothing but Tiger this & Tiger that... The man ain't played, he shouldn't have been newsworthy. But some how has been...

It is true you can get rusty, but sometimes a good performance can follow a lengthy layoff, at least an initialy good performance.

Oh & can't we now get rid of that Tiger/Nike advertising its getting on my tit. There are other Nike staff players like Paul Casey we could see his face for a bit if we absolutely must have Nike adverts taking up webspace... (If the powers that be are reading)

I have to say if it comes down to a head to head in the open between Harrington and Woods my money would be on PH. I actually beleive he has the right mental attitude now to match Woods in the heat of battle on a course set up fractionally in his favour. I wouldn't be so confident on the same result on US or USPGA venue with the heat and humidity to contend with as well but on a British links course in the height of our summer with the weather vagaries it can produce I think PH is a better player

Has Harrington played at all this year...? He doesn't seem to have been in any events shown on Sky.

He played the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines 2 weeks ago, that was his first venture this season.

Cant remember where he finished but it wasnt high. Strangely though, he played far better on the South Course than the North Course!
