Tiger wanted to be a SEAL.

This is such a non-story it's frightening.

Just watched it on Sky Sports News.

What next, Tim Barter grilling Lee Westwood on his childhood ambition to be a fireman?

Jesus wept.

You sure about that?
Bunch of trigger happy Gung ho cowboys, Not a patch on British Military discipline.
I spent some time on attachment in the late 80's / early 90's and mixed with some, so its from experience

Never heard of "friendly fire" then

Fragger

Nothing friendly about some backwater woodsman letting loose on you with a 50Cal.

In Iraq they were just plain dangerous although the Blackwater guys in their choppers were cool to watch buzzing Haifa St.

I don't disagree but the American public seems to respect the military, especially the golf demographic.

If the story had been about a childhood ambition to join the Navy then you'd be right...but Haney claims Woods considered giving up golf for a military career while he was at his peak.

The difference being? There was a footballer (Woodhouse?) became a boxer recently.

Just amuses me that anything where Tiger is concerned has people moistening up!

There is only one Seal

The point is nothing to do with whether Tiger could be a SEAL or not, but rather that this smacks of the manipulative type of media coverage that got him into trouble in the first place. One a narcissist, always a narcissist, I suppose, which is not really surprising as personality disorders do not generally improve after reaching adulthood, but you would think he could get better PR advice. It is all pretty risible, really.

I feel sorry for him, seems no-one in his life can be trusted not to blab every detail to the media.

The media hasn't told the half of it. And Elin hasn't said anything. If she told the whole story (which she can't under the terms of their arrangement) and everything came out, he would be finished. As it is, the public forgives celebrity indiscretions after a period of penitence, real or fake. And poor Tiger has his hundreds of millions of dollars to keep him warm in his mansion at night. Word is that he isn't usually lonely there.
