TIGER NOT TO WIN ANY MORE MAJORS??

What ye guys make of the comment on last nites skynews special about Tiger possibly not winning any more majors ?/ (i think it was bruce critchley not sure so open to correction) GM's Bill Elliot disagreed thinks he will... surely there is some signs in his game that he can win majors again . his aim is to prepare to win 4 tournaments a year (majors) & sure its great if he wins other tournaments aswell

So if I'm reading right, you think Schuey will win another World Championship? I honestly don't see that happening.

Frankly I would be stunned if Tiger didn't win another major. Anyone suggesting otherwise is purely trying to get themselves in media spotlight as far as I'm concerned.

On Schuey not winning another World Title? Yes. Definitely.

F1 is a young man's game these days and although arguably the second best F1 Driver ever (Senna is/was without doubt the greatest), With the likes of Vettel, Jenson, Hamilton and Rosberg (who was the better driver for Mercedes last season) competing, I don't think he can do it. He's an old(er) man now and has lost his edge a little, plus he doesn't have the car.

I don't think he can keep doing it for much longer either.

I'm gonna buck the trend a little on this.....

I can't see Tiger ever winning another major, he might even struggle to get another W.

Ok, I'll try and explain....

Since Phil won the Masters last year, the remaining Majors and WGC events have all been won by younger guys and there are probably a dozen more waiting to win 1, all of them younger than Tiger.

Todays elite game is being overtaken by younger, fitter, hungrier players, growing up without the aura of Tiger winning everyweek hovering above them. Anyone teeing it up on a Thursday with Tiger in the field has a chance to win, 2/3 years ago you would never have said that.

I still think Tiger has a long way to go to get back to Major winning form, the longer that takes, the more young players are emerging and winning golf tournaments, he's gonna find it more and more crowded getting back into that winners circle.

Whilst I expect him to win another Major, it wouldn't surprise me if he never won another. I certainly don't expect him to equal or beat Jack Nicklaus' record. IMO he just doesn't have the game (at the moment) to win one, and also I think that he's lost the fear / intimidation factor as well. Will be interesting to see how it all works out with Sean Foley, but cannot see any 'quick fixes' giving him an edge at the moment.

I think his best chance would be to go back to Butch as coach, but I still think he'll win at least one more. Even as badly as he's been playing, I think it's unlikely he'll not have at least one major where things juct click for him. If he sorts his putting out he'll be back up there imho

Exactly, playing the way he is playing at the moment he is like any other player who could have a good week, or even just a good Sunday and he could win just like anyone else. the thing he has over everyone else is he has that chance while no-where near his best.

I spoke to a chap a few months ago who managed to get 25 to 1 on Tiger not winning any major in the next 4 years. He put an £100 on him not winning.....

At the time, I thought that was a good bet and quite fancied a similar flutter myself but didn't.

As time goes on, I think it looks better and better.....

To an extent I agree with the fact there are alot of younge guys who could well win majors, I suppose you could argue that it's down to the fact that Golf is more competitive now than when tiger was cleaning up years back. I don't agree that Tiger has lost his hunger for winning, I mean if you were 4 titles away from jack and realistically believed that you could surpass him and be deemed the greatest golfer of all time (matter of opinion on who is the greatest obviously) which tiger will believe he can do then that is firing him up more than anything.

I think he will do it and think he could reach 20 possibly bt then I am a huge fan of Tiger and what he has done and potentially still could.

Do I think he can win another? Of course I do. Will he win another? Maybe not. As he nears Jacks record, it has got harder. There is more pressure on him to perform, and also the others have got better. He also has a new swing to cope with, (apparently all through the bag down to putter), and trusting a new swing is never easy. He hasn't won anything for over a year either.
If pushed, I'd say he has another couple in him, but he won't break Jacks record.

Wether or not he actually does though will depend on how long his game stays where it is, I cannot see him hanging around much after this season if he doesn't win anything, he never seems to keen on coming anywhere other than first

Everyone has their own opinion on this, but for me, I now think it is highly plausible that Tiger won't win any more Majors, but quite likely that he will. What I don't think he will now do, after all, is surpass Jack's record.
My main reasons for thinking this are:-
1) The stresses that he has placed on his body with the way he has attacked the ball for much of his career suggest he won't have the competitive longevity of those who have gone before as his body just won't tolerate such a hammering and pounding on into his mid-40s.
2) His pysche and aura will almost certainly never be the same again after the events of winter 2009, and once the bubble has been burst...
Of course, I could be wrong - it has been known (many times according to Mrs Jezz) - but where I once felt he would breeze past Jack, now I doubt he ever will.
