Coca Cola is the biggest drinks co. in the world, Mr Beard is the biggest name in YouTube, Mr Blobby got to No. 1 in the charts and was the biggest song that week ——— who the hell cares, your post saying Tiger is the biggest and moves the needle the most is utterly banal

Any golf journalist or golf fan who is spending time in the build up to the Masters or the Open thinking and writing about Tiger as a contender for winning these Majors needs to give their head a wobble, and isn’t a serious person

What appeals to the lowest common denominator matters not to me…parroting ad nasuem that he’s the biggest name in golf is banal in the extreme. Who disputes that he’s the only golfer most people have heard of?? Boring and irrelevant and not an interesting nor original comment at all…

He may well be the only golfer most people have heard of…who honestly gives a damn…I’m not interested in what may appeal, for only a passing second, to the non-golfer / or the average football fan who’s got no interest in golf whatsoever…

I’d rather golf media and the sports media reported on what’s actually interesting and actually relevant

Did you really expect the media and not just golf media to not report and highlight the incident

Surely you aren’t that naive

And it’s not just the media that focus on it

Look at how many pages this thread has created - more people are talking about woods incident than the multiple golf events that have taken place over the last couple of weeks

Bad or negative news will always create headlines and Tiger Woods will always create headlines - that’s the same with any sport when one of the best that’s played the sport has an incident
