Tiger Charge

Impressive play from Rory, two solid sand saves and a booming drive down 18, he can afford to go at the green now and even if he puts it in the water he's still odds on to score no more than bogey, great finish!

He was 2nd, calm down men.

Still a long way to go,the young'un pooosiled him this week.

speaking of long ways to go, now he's no1 if he can just stay there for the next 11+ years he'll catch up on Tigers record, puts it in perspective. He's growing on me though

I think Rory just won the tournament with that pitch out of the rough at 14. Incredible.

i was thinking the exact same when he played that.he did supremely well under that kind of pressure.these are the isutations that would of cracked many a player and some would of expected rory to do so but not anymore....he's too good for that now.

his short game over the closing holes was phenomenal.....

but that 2nd shot from woods on 18 was astounding, thats what we love about tiger surely?they say that was the tiger of old but i disagree.....its the tiger of now and hopefully it will continue.

it makes for exciting golf for the rest of the season...its going ot be a good year.

Couldn't agree more.. with a hot putter Tiger wouldv'e won his last 10 events. Great to see him hole a few yesterday... just like Westwood who also got the shortstick working for once. Was nice to actually see westy hit a few putts PAST the hole.

Agreed, you could add McIlroy into the hot putter debate too, his putting was iffy against Mahan last week but yesterday he missed nothing inside 10 feet.

Yesterday Rory's putting SAVED him from shooting 4 over. But you're right, he made practically everything he looked at to card a 1 under par round ;)

Great, so Tiger won the last round, but the event was 4 rounds, so still some work to do. His approach to the last was a great shot, with a touch of good fortune thrown in.

Tiger was able to come out all guns blazing yesterday, and he played great to finish tied with the then world number 264. There have been a few false dawns in the Tiger comeback trail.

Rory had to play a different defensive game, a bit against his natural inclination, but he did what was needed and deserves his win.

Agreed, this was a new strategy for Rory and it payed off.. well done to him.
He must have had the shivers when the crowds erupted on the back stretch after tigers shots.
His scrambling and putting was awesome.
