Thwaites Brewery.

There is an area about 3 miles from where I live and they regularly pitch up there for a few days before being moved on. Few weeks ago they tarmac'd the grass around the caravans because it was wet and muddy!

As a side note, I assume they have insurance for their vehicles. If so, surely they have a 'home address' that they are registered to?

Apparently the 'vehicles' are registered at 'an' address, which I guess is OK but when they complete an insurance quote I wonder how they answer the question "Where is the car/van normally kept?" - the 'address' must have a very big car park.

The Police do themselves no favours with this type of behaviour especially at a time when they state they will no longer investigate car theft or 'minor' burglary. The latest reports also say the Cops will no longer accept lost property.

The daftest thing in our locality is the son of a family saw his Dad's car been driven away from their house. He immediately told his Dad who contacted the boys in blue and told them his car was fitted with a tracker and so they new exactly where it was. The house had also been 'turned-over' and the stolen goods were in the car. The Police question was " do you have any witnesses to evidence that these guys nicked your motor?" !!!

Hmmm. two different groups of our society breaking different laws.

How much does a speeding multi car pile up resulting in deaths and lengthy motorway closures cost. ?
More than £100,000 I would guess

Doon stop it - you blurted into a thread without understanding what it was about

It’s got nothing to do with speeding - nothing , the thread is about travellers and the destruction they cause around the country and the fact the police don’t seem to do anything about them.

If you want to start going on about speeding start another thread

Great Brewery. Brought up on Thwaites bitter and had my first pint costing 1s 10d i.e 9p post decimalisation.

Been round the brewery, absolute tragedy.

The Chief Constable of Lancashire was interviewed on North West News today @1.30 and there were 100 of them against very few policeman who were helpless to do anything.

So Travellers don't speed....is that what you're saying?

A group of "Travellers" cause £100k damage but it's alright because a multi car pile up costs far more...
I think you've completely lost what little grasp of reality you had left....

Note to DfT.

If you find yourself in a hole........

Stop Digging!

I never said that travellers don't speed but, like many others, they probably do without giving a single thought that they are breaking the law.

And that has precisely what to do with the original thread?

Obviously many do break traffic and parking laws. However, the OP was referring to a specific incident not related to motoring.

You clearly feel strongly about speeding in which case perhaps you should take Phil's advice and start a new thread.
