I’m escaping to Devon for three days over Christmas with a lady who may make the Cut to one day turn into Mrs Evemccc

I will be staying in Salcombe and hope to have a round with Her walking round admiring my ball striking with my long irons (😀🤣)

Ive seen photos of Thurlestone and it looks perfect, as views and scenery is important

Anyone played it? Thoughts about it? Or should I consider looking elsewhere and close by, such as Bigbury?

Thanks

Definitely Thurlestone over Bigbury, but either is worth a game. She'll prefer the views from the former too.

Take the smallest practical car you have. Those Devon lanes are narrow.😉

Are you treating her to a posh hotel, or have you got the Saunton Tent?🤣🤣

Somewhere in between Ian🤣

Be warned that both Thurlestone and Bigbury are a bitch to get to (but worth the effort). Prepare yourself for single track lanes with grass down the middle.

I booked Thurlestone…

In a few short days time I will let any and all avid readers know what I thought of it, how well/badly I played, and what ‘she’ thought of it all..🤪🤣

Greatly enjoyed Thurlestone - had wall-to-wall brilliant sunshine and strong 25mph winds…what’s not to love!?! The views are simply breathtaking

I hadn’t picked up a club in at least 2 months and so was fairly pleased with how I played…putting however was as usual, bloody awful 🤣🙄🤣

I'm late to this this thread. If you get the opportunity to play again on your trip then Teignmouth is in my top 2 favourite golf courses I've ever played.
