Just finished a brilliant cognitive behavioural course at work, really opened my eyes to how we think, learn, remember and behave. Its the roots that build CBT, cognitive behavioural therapy used to treat depression and anxiety. It was a course run by my work but in reality it was far more personal help than professional, I guess the idea being a good home life builds a good work life :) I have to say I agree!

Anyway the course host was a bit of a golfer and we did talk golf during the two days. Probably the best learning snippet to come from the course was this, just some basic facts and a statement.

"The more we do or even think about something, the less resistance that thought has, so the easier it is to act out"

The course is 2 full days so of course there is more to understanding cognitive behaviour. Simply if you are trying to learn something new, like a different takeaway, then just repeat the feeling, the image and the motion in your mind over and over. This builds a pathway so it has less resistance and therefore in time the old pathway degrades (therefore becomes more resistant) and the new one less resistant.

Pretty simple stuff but I bet the above and the whole course will help me reach my goal of shooting level gross round my local par 3.

I won't mention the course name or the provider on here, I don't work for them but I would HIGHLY recommend them to any business wanting to offer this to help people improve all areas of there life, including work, home, social and sporting lives.
