Things That Gladden The Heart

Crikey, what car do you have that needs a £300 wheel
Many alloys are this much...if you damage one, trying to get a matching replacement is hard so you're likely to have to go to the manufacturer
A set of 4 alloys from Ford can easily set you back 1200 notes......
I had a damaged one on one of my C3 training cars..the tyre went and they couldn't get the new one on because the rim had warped.
Fortunately the scrap yard down the road had one that matched and it cost me 40 quid....
Alloys ain't cheap

£300 for an alloy is quite low end of the scale.

Wheels on cars are getting bigger all the time, it’s now fairly common for a passenger car to have 19 or 20 inch alloys, unheard of even 10 uears ago.

With that increased size comes increased cost.
I’ll cry bloody tears if my forged 19s get damaged…

So coming back from me mums yesterday I passed a car half on and half off the kerb just after a small roundabout. I thought that’s odd. But Both drivers side wheels as flat as a pancake. I mentioned to missis T “there’s a Grands worth of damage if them Alloys are damaged”.
They didn’t look good. 😖

Airflow in to brakes is quite important. Lighter for fuel consumption.

As it is writ, every little helps.
Well yes. Of course brakes need to work, but modern brakes are so good that we're talking about minuscule effects.
As for lower weight improving fuel consumption, that's a bit ironic seeing as how cars are getting SO much heavier these days!

Finally reached the day where I’ve been able to transfer my homemade kimchi and sauerkraut to airtight containers to go in the fridge. The house was starting to smell a bit ripe.

Walking the streets of Penang/Georgetown 🇲🇾 is absolutely knackering in 31degC/65% humidity. But I’m not complaining - though I’m not sure I could live here. Am I missing January in England…? Hmmm…🤔🙄

Went to Raby Castle and deer park today, Co Durham. Not been before, beautiful place. Lovely walled garden a castle (closed at the moment) next to a lake, huge herd of deer. At 10.30 a digger comes out with it's bucket full of carrots. The deer follow it like the Pied Piper. Those not nearby all run across to it.

A brilliant few minutes, shame I can't post a video I took. I won't bore people with pictures, I posted some the other day in a different park, but if anyone is in the area on holiday Id heartily recommend it. Top cafe as well 😋
