Things That Gladden The Heart

You should see my handicap ... :):)

(No, its not a golf thing. It an app where you are given a Streetview location - anywhere in the world - and you have to work out where it is)
I played that once - it showed a post-nuclear apocolyptic scene with devastation everywhere. I correctly guessed Stoke High Street :ROFLMAO:

After a frustrating time arranging probate for my MIL, it has finally been granted today. What was not important suddenly became more important as my FIL decided he wanted to move and couldn't without this being done. The system is poor, fill a form in online but then you need to print and post it? If you fill it in online, why not just upload it? Anyway, we got there in the end. Phew, pressure off me, the one executor out of the two who was doing this 😄

Watching Live Aid @ 40 I’m having major time travel moments back wandering the A38 streets of North Bristol on a hot sunny Saturday…listening to LA coming out of every student and locals windows as I move with my mates from one pub to the next to watch what’s on next with a new bunch of folks.

Ah those carefree days of relative innocence pre-personal computer and smart phone where we could just live for and experience the day as we found it and felt it.

ETA…Queen now on doing their bit. Oh Freddie you were magnificent that day…tears to eyes stuff…

We're on holiday in Cyprus at the moment and I've asked the kids if they'd like to try the horse riding school that's on site..."no thanks, he might bite my willy off."

No argument really is there. We'll leave it just in case.
Horse's grind their food, so it won't be a quick snip, either!!

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this.
Fred Dibnah- things that gladden the heart
or things that frighten the living daylights!

Watch his story on YouTube.

He climbs a 200 foot chimney without a harness or any safety equipment at all.
He strides up the never ending ladder and leaves you thinking, any minute he'll slip and fall! It's quite scary to watch.

And then he forms scaffolding around the top of the chimney in what seems like extremely hard and dangerous work. But not for Fred,he carries on as if he's working on a normal roof.

Made me chuckle at the end, he said, "You only fall once in this job".

A great watch if you like that sort of thing.

My daughters end of year school report , always nice to read lovely things the teacher has said and that she is doing well

I helped with a school trip the other week and watched the how the kids interact with each other and can see the trouble makers and thankfully daughter and her friends not in that group

When I went to Japan in May we went to a samurais house from the 1600’s. The garden was gorgeous with lovely trees and fruit trees. there was one lemon tree and on the Floor was a lemon. Anyway said lemon was relieved of its pips and I planted them in a propagator. Just got back from me next Jols and one is now a beautiful little lemon tree.
I will put that amongst my trees grown from acorns from American war museum in Normandy, and the multiple palm trees I have grown over the years. Oh ah and the fire trees from Maderia 😁

Fred Dibnah is a northern legend. I think that Guy Martin is his modern day Love child. They are both refreshing to watch and both love a mug of tea.

Don't think you are allowed to bring in pips from overseas here in OZ,
will I see you on a Border Security episode soon ?

Watched all of his programs at least a couple of times - as you say, a legend - who lived just a few mile away from where I play golf.
