Shrek the Musical. Done by a supposed amateur company at Newcastle Theatre Royal. I say supposed because the standard was professional, the voices, costumes, sets etc. A cracking show. The only sign that it wasn't a professional company was that the scene changes were not quite so slick, but heck no one cared.

A good night and we will definitely look out for future productions, The Newcastle Musical Theatre Company if anyone is interested.

Saw Tina Turner The Musical yesterday at the Aldwych Theatre in London.
Fantastic show and Fluer East as Tina was brilliant. High energy singing and dancing throughout.
The finale lasted for about 15 minutes, the screen went up and there was the band, the whole audience singing, dancing and clapping away. Incredible!
If you like her music it's a must see.

Got a train from Brighton to London bridge then changed for Charing Cross.
Came out of station looking for Covent Garden and not having a clue where to go so used the walk sat nav on phone. Anyone found it easy to follow, not me. No signs anywhere but eventually found Bill's restaurant for pre show lunch.
Same again looking for Aldwych theatre but it was all worth it in the end.
Loved walking around London.....seriously.
Thameslink trains were brilliant, outbound and inbound! 👍

Well that was indeed very excellent and enjoyable (even as a Scot 😘 ;) )

Thoughtful, funny, clever and...at times and quite unexpectedly...rather nerve-jangling and thrilling. The representations and characterisations of Southgate; many of the England team; previous managers; politicians of the time and others 'close to the action' were very cleverly done (no spoilers as some were spot on and very funny). And of course we know what much of Southgate's Dear England letter to England was about and how it followed social media evisceration of certain players following, yet again, a failed penalty kick decider. It is sad that much of what was said by Southgate and what he said to the players resonates strongly today.

It's on tour at the moment and really worth going to see. It's for the football fan who goes to the theatre, but also - and importantly perhaps - for those who don't...and indeed anyone with an interest in England and what 'being English' means will find it interesting, thought-provoking - and fun.

Highly Recommended.

Paddington ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Just wonderful, happy, uplifting, excellent.

It's got a bear, in a duffel coat, with a red hat, singing and dancing. You can't top it.

Buy a ticket, go and see it 👍

Literally been talking about this just tonight. Is it good and worth it?

Mrs M is addicted to Paddington and was thinking about tickets as part of her Christmas gifts

100% worth it, we loved it. The story is as per the first film and is very well played. The songs are too notch, the guy, from The Wanted, has done a great job. There is plenty of wit and humour throughout.

As for Paddington himself, prepare for your wife to be a bubbling mess when he first appears on stage, and at numerous other points. Happy tears, but they'll be there 😂

It will be the best present you could buy her this year 👍

Cheers for the recommendation LT. I’ll get those ordered today then as I prefer gifts that are experiences and make memories.

I’m sure she will melt when she sees the little bear she is obsessed with him. Popped into a shop in Windsor last night before drinks came out having spent £45 the only thing that was purchased was a Paddington tea cup. 🤣
