Zlatan is my Jr's hero. He looks like a great bloke and my Swedish friends swoon over him. He has nothing to prove, so heading off to LA Galaxy for a last big paycheck.. (perhaps China may be one last final stop). Either way, only Zlatan can announce his transfer by taking out full page advt in LA Times

Not sure the ego has ever quite been matched by the talent BUT he is a good guy and by all accounts has a good attitude and is influential with younger players etc. Going to the MLS makes sense rather than sitting on the bench at ManU. Did better at ManU than Schweinsteiger I suppose, but old father time has caught him up it seems. Good career though.

I think he's great. Apparently a very intelligent bloke, and I think he plays this egocentric image for fun, and to build his profile for future endeavors. He's still a fantastic player as well and I expect him to score at least a goal per game over there. MLS defenders aren't up to much, he'll have them breakfast, lunch and dinner. They'll genuinely never have faced anyone like him.

846 games 483 goals

thats more than a 1 in 2 record over his long career

id say he is up there with the best

after messi and ronaldo he is that level below them.. the neymar level

Good stats and plenty honours, I never quite bought into the legend, not sure why, maybe the lack of Champions League success.
MLS has a shorter season than Europe just under 8 months and they play through the summer, not winter. A spell in LA with the lifestyle there and summer football, you can see the appeal.:)

the only thing he hasnt won, but considering he won the league in 4 different countries

scored 29 goals for UTD in 53 games at the age of 35

id be happy with that from a foreign import in the first season at 25 let alone 30+

Cannot deny he had class. But unlike the best he has a nasty streak in him
When it is not going his way. Youtube him.

Plenty of the best have a nasty streak.

Imo Aguero is up there with the best striker the Prem has ever seen. Yet he’s capable of pure filth.

But unlike the best he has a nasty streak in him.

In fact... Keane, Vieira, Gerrard, Scholes, Bergkamp, Shearer... just a few of the best players the Premier League and the world has ever seen and all were decidedly nasty when the situation arose.

Ah Tashy, you do talk some nonsense. :D

I did almost mention him, so as to not seem bias....

I think his nasty streak almost went ahead of his ability in regards to what people mention first. It sometimes masked just how good he realy was.

So he wasn't nasty. Glad we cleared that up.

Erm, I think you're totally wrong there. Most of the world's best have a nasty streak which often gives them an edge. C.Ronaldo, Suarez, Agüero, etc etc.

And again you're making absolutely zero sense. What?

Genuine question has Messi ever had a dirty streak? One of if not the best that’s ever been and I can’t rememebr much

The nasty streak argument is one put out to justify unpleasant players. Not necessary, plenty of world class players who don't have the character of a Keane or Ronaldo. Go through the ages, Pele, Beckanbauer, Muller, Platini, Pirlo, Lineker, Charlton, Moore, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi. They are just off the top of my head, a random bunch. Plenty more if I put my mind to it.

Kellfire, when I responded by not waxing lyrical about his footballing carreer I was being kind. There is no doubting his talent. However " nasty streak " is a massive understatement. Think Roy Keanes tackle on the City (Alf Haaland) player and times it by ten. There are countless videos and stories about his "violent episodes" as a player. (Wikipedias quote not mine). Spend five mins on you tube. See another side to his game and then get back on here with another "you're making absolutely zero sense". Try finding out yourself without guessing what he was like.
Is he the only player that has a streak to his game? No. But this thread is about him, no one else.

Thankyou, and that is what I was trying to say. You could lump ibrahimovic in with like minded players, but there are a batch of players you could not lump him in with. Ones you have mentioned.
i would not doubt his ability but I was merely pointing out another side to his game.
