Has anybody played recently?

Looking to play one of the courses this Tuesday coming just not sure how they will be holding up with the wet weather if anybody has played it recently?

I remember it being very wet underfoot last time I played some 7 years or so ago.


Free greenfee's at Vale Resorts so thats preference, but don't mind a knock around another local ish course if it's likely to be holding up better and not going to be a bog.

Played in Cardiff last week, not been much rain in the area so should be fine

Played both at the start of July, both in very good condition.

It's August, not been a lot of rain down here lately, would be shocked if they were mucky underfoot. Recent rain might be needed to green it up a bit

Ahh poor drainage at a local course probably has me needlessly concerned, was very boggy underfoot but we did have a considerable amount of rain near me. I'm 3 hours away so sounds like you've had it better your way.

Play the National, the Lakes isn’t a good course, they were dry the weekend before last.

I'm not a huge fan of either course....but nice to see someone venturing deeper into Welsh Wales than Celtic Manor! 😁😁

The Lakes has got one of the worst holes I've ever seen, the one on the side of a hill. No chance of holding the fairway.

Try Pennard if it's not to far.

There’s two of them back to back! 6 & 7 I think, 7 is especially bad.

Both courses will be fine even if next week is wet. Play National if your a big hitter, Lakes if not.

Both will be fine we haven’t had a lot of rain down here for a good few weeks All are bone dry

Whenever I’ve played the Wales national, regardless of the weather, it always seems a bit boggy. Cracking course though.

Not sure of its in your thoughts, but enjoyed the rolls of monmouth the other year.

There’s plenty of options to play the rolls of Monmouth is nice,vale and Radyr to name a few if you don’t mind travelling down a bit further I’d recommend http://www.machynys.com/ the place is spectacular
